Cameron and the film, Night of the Hunter....set the video
Another Cameron film alert.
Okay,..this may be a bit late, and people might not read this until tommorrow,..but if you love to hate Cameron, this is the film for you. ![]() Night of the Hunter,...Channel 4, 2.55 am Obviously it's on at a silly hour but get it recorded on video. We only just had The Wicker Man last week,..and Night of the Hunter suddenly appears out of the blue less than a week later. This is Cameron as you can imagine him being at his absolute worst. The fake preacher, who everybody values and respects. A pillar of the community,..but he is a greedy killer who's motive in the film is to seek out a load of cash. The location of which is only known by two children who he has become close to. Robert Mitchum plays the lead role,..and is as psychopathic, evil, twisted, fake, bullying, and sadistic as they come. Lovely. Watch it and enjoy. Cameron as we know him on here.

Night of the Hunter is indeed a great film, but I think you are getting a little carried away with the Cameron analogies, AM.

Carried away?..it's only the second one. There can't be that many. If you're not so keen on Cameron,.you'll just love to see the similarites...if you don't feel that way, it won't mean anything. Anyway,..i'm only trying to share something that some will find fun.

It's a happy thread ![]() I am only spreading good news and feelings of joy to fellow Cameron haters. Today I'm being generous to Cameron. I'll spare him the hate for another day.

LOL!
Notice you never got to see Camoron's knuckles close up did you(?) with all that fake tan over what we now know to be the tattoos LOVE and HATE! LOL! I found the Wicker Man analogy/allegory spooky. I really do wonder if Cam based his BB persona on Ewar Woowar! I like the "logical conclusion/extension" to Night of the Hunter!!

Sounds like you saw it anyway Yes, The Wicker Man analogy was spooky, interesting, and just too coincidental. (Cameron traits in this film ----Moralistic, angry, intolerant, narrow minded) The Night of the Hunter analogy was satisfying, fun, and was more like a cartoon caricature of Cameron. (Cameron traits in this film ----Evil, violent, greedy, psychopathic) ..Robert Mitchum is the evil Cameron described on the board. Can't think of many more of these Cameron references. I can only think of Vincent Price in The Witchfinder General to finish off the trilogy. From what I remember of the lttle bit I saw of it, the Vincent Price character was evil, cruel, moralistic, vengeful, hypocritical..and sadistic. Hope there's a few more scary religious characters in other films, to exorcise my Cameron demons. Anymore Camerons in the movies? |

Great stuff this, Alrightmate!
Yes the "LOVE HATE islander knuckle" he tried to hide from us! I suppose Cam could be the eponymous Wizard of Oz or maybe the diabolic "Needful Things" curator/owner.... Only less refined of course. Hmmm...more like a latter day Pied Piper or an embodiment of The Call of the Sirens.. He would fit in well with A Midwich Cuckoo or maybe a bit like Dracule in Bram Stoker's Dracula... a bit Uriah Heep meets Ozzy Ozbourne without the charm.!!!! |

It's donkey's years since I've seen it but surely there must be at least one character in Ken Russell's 'The Devils' who might bear some resemblance to the forum caricature of Cameron
it's a story of religeous fervour and sexual repression All in fun, of course ( the forum, not the film ) Anyone seen the film recently ? |

Ah yes, Oliver Reed getting a bit tortured and he too bought it at the end set aflame at the stake.
That film has very naughty nuns in it and diabolical happenings with "cupping" and other medical practices. Ugh! Have to have a think about Camoron parallels with it... |
