The latest fault to manifest itself on our just-out-of-warranty DTI6300 is vertical stripes.

Recordings which have previously played back OK now appear with green vertical stripes and a "solarized" image. The sound is OK.

Some other recordings made since have been OK, but it is very hit-and-miss which are OK / not OK.

There is the odd reference to something similar in these threads but nothing definitive.

Any ideas, before I go looking for a Humax in the sales?

Had this happen on my old Thomson DTI6300. It was a software fault. I fixed the problem by completing a Software Revert.

So try doing a Software Revert and see if that makes any difference. If not, then try updating the software again and see if that makes any difference.

Just had the same thing and a reboot cured it

A reboot seemed to fix it, but it has come back.

How do you do a Software Revert? assuming that's not too late.

A Software Revert can be done in theory but it depends on what software versions have been installed on your box. Some people have 2 instances of the same software version on their TUTV+ box (as does my TUTV+ box). So in these cases, doing a software revert doesn't actually revert the software to an older version but it can revert back to a second instance of the same software version.

But even if you have 2 instances of the same software version, switching between the 2 instances can solve some problems as I have found out.

To perform a Software Revert:

Menu > 4 Setup > 6 Help > then press the Green button

To view the 2 software instances installed on your TUTV+ box:

Menu > 4 Setup > 6 Help > press 1 then press 3 then press 9 then press 7

The Engineers Menu should now appear and you should see Code Image 1 and Code Image 2 at the top of this menu.

In theory they should show the latest, and the previous version of the software. The software instance currently being used says (current) next to it.
