Just got a new iPod Dock.

Got the Pure-Fi Anywhere from Argos today, great product. Has a great case.

Was just wondering, while the iPod is docked, it is fully charged all the time, and the rechargeable battery of the Logitech is charging as well, and the screen on my Touch stays on - is it ok and safe for all of this to be going on?

Thanks for answers.

And, also - I am playing a good 50 songs off one album, so they all have the same artwork - is this going to create a burn on the screen, shame if so as I cannot seem to turn the screen off when it's docked - whilst using headphones it goes off after 1 minute.

A couple of things come to mind, Matt-08.

Perhaps Apple themselves might be able to advise (see here http://www.apple.com/uk/contact/)?. Also, I assume the iPod Touch screen is an LCD liquid crystal one so I suspect screen burn will not be an issue as it's generally plasma screens and, to a lesser extent, older CRT electron gun screens that suffer from this problem.

However, LCD screens can be experience the phenomenon of image persistence (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_persistence and the tips they give there).

If your iPod can run different visualisation patterns to music like Windows Media Player that might help as might turning down screen brightness and contrast (if it can be done) but I'd really suggest checking with Apple on that one.

Thanks for your reply, TelevisionUser. The iPod Touch doesn't have a visualiser unfortunately. Currently listening to 95.8 Capital FM on it in my dock, and a big Quicktime logo covers the screen. Luckily the timer at the top is moving, so not all static, and as you say LCD screens don't suffer as badly from Imagine burn. After a few minutes the screen does dim slightly, about half of the original left, but not turn off completely. It's a shame I can't use the Capital app, because that has live webcams of London etc, but the sound quality is worse than the www.musicradio.com version.

Happy New Year, Matt-08/09.
