Headbanger

I know the headbanger is terribly terribly clever, but it is also very dangerous. It is banned from ice dance competitions, so do we really need it in DOI? Personally, I feel far more impressed when the celebs manage some decent skating on their own.

IMO, it is a fabulous move and gives a certain routine a fantastic ending needed .

It was lovely to see Suzanne pull it off. She seemed so pleased .

It can also show just how much the female Celebrity trusts her Professional partner.

It worries me everytime a couple do it. Only a tiny thing could go wrong and that person's head is smashing straight into the ice at a fast speed.

i had to cover my eyes when suzanne did it on the tour.
I was right near the front of the stage and i was so shocked at just how close her head is to the ice. scarey stuf

This move scares the crap out of me, I can barely look when its being peformed. Remember when David Seaman's partner clacked her chin on the ice because she landed awkwardly doing it?!

I also recall with a shudder how close Suzanne Shaw's head came to the ice last year.

It might be banned from competition but they do still peform it in shows.

So, it has caused injuries.

I hate it. I enjoy routines less when I know it has the move in it. Spectacle is not more important than safety - well, it is, but it isn't to me.

I don't see the point in it, I'm more about ice dancing and interpretation so I don't think it really fits with the show, but figure skating moves like the axel Chris tries to do and this adagio headbanger helps to bring the show together and appeal to everyone really, so I live with it! It does bore me though, as a move, but I suppose its because it doesn't mean anything. T&D have got on splendidly in their career without any dangerous moves like that!
