No knighthood either for the oncologist who successfully treated my mother for breast cancer, or the paediatrician who cared for my gravely ill grandson. I'm sure that just about everyone can think of people who selflessly carry out their jobs/voluntary work, and who REALLY deserve recognition.
Why should a rather past-it, but well paid, entertainer, who has recently been showing a somewhat nasty streak, receive a knighthood? Most of us would be happy with just a fraction of his salary. I'm inclined to think that he should now take the honourable route, and retire gracefully, thereby avoiding more of the occasional humiliations we saw during this series.
