Isn't Karen older?

Please let this hint be true. I'm really not keen on Camilla.

Why would Camilla leaving affect whether or not Ian would stay? Camilla's current boyfriend is one of the Hollyoaks cast who plays Jake Dean.

Hope its not like the current crop of female tennis players - retire once you have won the big prize because you are unlikely to do as well again and its a lot of effort not getting there again.

Your last paragraph Peter is absolutely right. Too many contestants this year. More is not necessarily better. Please note BBC!

She's my favourite pro, so I'll be sad if she does decide to call it a day. I can see why doing six years of SCD can take its toll though; the pros are human after all...

I've said it many times this year, but there is no harm in saying it again. No more than 12 couples next year please; this year's series was four weeks too long, and SCD in September just doesn't feel right for me ('tis a winter thing).

Like most people I guess, after a gruelling number of months she wqants time to relax and probably does not want to start thinking about the next year. And who could blame her.

But I think that, after a good rest and some solid thinking, she will want to return.

yep i agree. then they won't get quite so exhausted. plus i don't really think having more couples makes it more interesting.

They're pro partners. Like Anton and Erin. They dance together outside of Strictly. One without the other would be odd.

but nicole left and matthew's still in. and they're husband and wife as well as pro partners.

And it felt odd, didn't it. Nicole wasn't asked back. It would probably be a different story if Camilla chose not to take part.

I do agree with this. I think the BBC need to rethink some of the changes and bring in a more streamlined approach. Whoever decides or is asked to stay or go would be based on the reduced numbers.

My understanding is that Matthew and Nicole are divorced but remain on good terms??? Hence the excellent dance partnership they now have.

Matthew and Nicole divorced in 2003 but obviously are still on very good terms as they dance as a pro partnership outside of SCD.

I wouldn't be surprised if Camilla didn't return. She's participated in all 6 series and she finally won, which is what she was desperate to do. I don't think it would be a bad thing at all to go out on such a high.

Their not married anymore, they divorced a few years ago, but their still friends and still are pro partners

I can imagine the BBC putting pressure on her to stay. I know the draw is more the celeb than the pro partner, but I still can't see them being keen to lose the reigning champion...

ok sorry my mistake.
i don't know alot about either of them i just assumed they were married.
i'll hush now.

I actually thought that Camilla was the only safe pro, so this news is quite surprising. I don't know whether Camilla is hedging her bets after hearing all the rumours circulating about the older pros being replaced, but I would imagine that the BBC don't want to lose her just yet.

Now she's been here 6 series and finally won - albeit unfairly in my opinion - it's the perfect time to go if that's what she wants.

same !
when do we usually find out ?
i reckon either 2 or 4 are going. i think 4 would be better because 12 couples to start with is perfect but that said, i'd fear for my faves.

They've obviously got to get rid of the same amount of boy and girl pro's. Do you think they'll go for couples to axe? I think Matthew is fairly safe, maybe one of the safest. I thought Camilla was the safest, but it looks like that probably isn't so. If she goes, it'll be easier for the Beeb to axe Ian too. I'd prefer they'd get rid of the Jordans, which would lower it to 14, which is fine with me. Then there wouldn't be that greater loss, and most get to keep their faves.
