Exporting files from FOXSAT HDR to USB Drive

When you're done choosing again press green to copy, a little message appears at the bottom of the screen to give you some idea of how it's going.

I have 87 Family Guy episodes on my, or should I say my wife's Humax Foxsat. I've just tried doing a multi copy and it would only allow me to transfer 4 episodes in one go and it was slowwwwwwwwww. I've checked the stick on the PC and they have taken up 1.85GB and there is 5.5GB free.

Could I take the disk out of the Humax and plug it into my PC, assuming connections are compatible, and do a simple drag and drop?

Yes if you get a esata/usb drive cradle and install EXT2FS so you can read the EXT3 drive on a PC.

Alternatively you could install Raydons Media Server modified firmware and ftp them direct to your PC.

Is there an idiots guide for either method?

I took the drive out of the Humax and put it into the PC.using the cables that were connected to the DVD drive. I installed the EXT2FS. I went into control panel and assigned drive letters for the humax disk. Each one that I then tried to open in MyComputer asked me if I wanted to format them. I'm using windows xp.

You have to mount the disc, from memory right click the drive icon and choose mount. Thereafter it looks like a normal drive in Windows File Manager

I shall give that a try again tomorrow when there is a recording free window. Got her a Virgin TIVO, the Foxsat and a freeview Humax recorder and they all seem to be set up to record any amount of shite at all times of the day. I record one programme albeit dozens of episodes and it's me that is hogging the dics.

Hello,
I tried to copy a Programme from my Humax Fosat HDR box onto my USB Stick, I have Locked and Protected my Programme and now it will not play
and it keeps on asking for the Password and nothing happens after that, can anyone help me?

I cannot see a mount option anywhere.

I have 'new discs' D,E,F and G on myComputer window.

With the Ext2 Volume Manager open is one of the drives in the upper window shown as EXT3 ?

By default drives are mounted read only, if you want to write to it you need to deselect the mount volumes in read only mode option (Tools/Service Management)

It would have been handy had I installed the correct software. Got into the drive now. At least I will have something to watch in my hotel bedroom this week Cheers.
