Maybe so, but if you look at the list, with a few odd exceptions they don't seem outrageous. I think Rachel's Rhumba and Tango and AT deserved their places. Lots of other dances are dominated by dancers from series' other than 6.

The Foxtrot is interesting, but this year they were good technically and it is a difficult dance. Out of all of them I actually prefer Tom's - but there's only one point in it and it is a matter of taste I think.

With regards to the Salsa: it is very different from the 5 Latin dances - it's a club dance, not a traditional competition/show dance. Therefore designed for a small space. I think one of the reasons why so many pros use samba steps in their Salsa dances is to use the floor (still hate this though).

The basic step is technically a lot easier than the Latins; the main skills are in leading and following - not performing. Most of the pros will know the salsa steps, but I doubt they would be able to lead/follow in a club very well at all (Brian and Nicole being the exceptions).

Also, since the pros don't usually teach Salsa, they won't know how to teach the correct styling. Arguably styling is more important for the lady than the man (in order to look sexy); the male celebrities on SCD can still look good just doing the moves, which is why I think they score higher than the women.

Terrible music is also a factor for scoring lower than perhaps could be achieved (Michael Jackson/Jamaraquoi salsa anyone? ), as with a lot of the SCD dances.

I would argue about the Quickstep and the ChaChaCha perhaps.

I remember Colin's quickstep as absolutely incredibly wonderful and can remember a lot of the dance. I can hardly remember Lisa's at all. Perhaps I'm just horribly biased. What does anybody else think?”

Colin's QS was the best, followed by Alesha's. The judges got it wrong imo.

Re the Salsa, I don't think the pro dancers or the judges know enough about it. The pro's get help from outside choreographers, and the judges have admitted that as it is a more informal/looser dance and there are many different forms, so they appear not to have a strict criteria from which to judge

Thanks for the info about the Salsa wildbajanqueen and Cami - I'm quite intersted in the Salsa and will do a bit of research.

Agree with you Cami about the QS. I also looked at Lisa's ChaCha again and still think it messy and not perfect and rather slow. A good job, don't get me wrong, but really not perfect 40.
