Sony V Hitachi
hi i need some advice.
i am in the market for a new lcd tv and i have seen that Argos have a sony kdl40v4000 at £548 but have no stock and are putting it up on monday to £585. They do have a hitachi 42in fhd1080p at £485, which seems a remarkable price for a 42in tv. But which is the best tv and why..??? Please help... Gaggie 29 |

The thing with sony in my experience is the extra price you pay for a sony doesn't reflect in the quality you should encounter.

£499 will get you a much better Panasonic Plasma...the 42PX80B.

As for Hitachi - they made their name 30+ years ago, most of their product is cheap bought-in junk - I have a 42 inch Hitachi, it's made by Vestel in Turkey. In a top ten, Sony would be top, Pansonic a close second, and Hitachi nowhere near the top ten, down somewhere with Bush and Matsui. So don't buy an Hitachi. |

Just out of curiosity, since I have a 37" Vestel branded Techwood upstairs, how do you find it?I've had mine nearly two years now and it's not missed a beat. Quality is nothing compared to my new 42" 1080p set but, even so, I don't really think Vestel are all that bad for a cheap brand. |

I have always liked Sony's sound on their TV's over the years, but like everything you get good and bad models from every brand.
