Well done Ulrika!
Think you are a very worthy winner! As I don't want to get banned, I will not say what I think about some of the bile spewed by some posters on the threads out there! I really do not understand why people develop such a hatred for people they have never even met; makes me wonder about their mentality. Anyway..it's over and they cannot take away the fact that more people picked up the phone and voted Ulrika! Congrats again! |

WHEYYYYYYYY.
I'm so chuffed for her, she did it. ![]() I was expecting Verne to take the crown but Ulrika has really won the public over. ![]() She looks so surprised and happy, I don't think she'd have ever thought the public would vote her to win. Ignore the people out there on the main forum, theres always some who whinge no matter who wins. Anyway, that was 3 weeks worth of TV well worth watching imo. Still can't believe it, and to think Ulrika survived 5 evictions and then went on to win. Its a BB record.

I've no idea why, this time, I became a fan of Ulrika .. yes, she was funny in Shooting Stars, but I never found her captivating or that interesting. A nice young woman, who could send herself up. I was vaguely aware she was on Strictly Come Dancing and read she didn't do that well.
I think what was compelling was that as few days after entering the house, and the overly hairstyle flattened into something plainer and whatever front she may have bought in (I suggest it was very little! ego?) disappeared, we saw a real person - not always attractive, a bit difficult to get on with but was essentially kind, supportive, intelligent, fiesty and funny with a dash of charisma and she wasn't afraid to make a fool of herself, or piss off the men, especially. I don't really understand who Ulrika Jonnson is - to me she really is nothing more than some women on TV who may as well be a million miles away. All I can honestly say is that, for whatever reason, I responded to her personaility, warts and all and for that I found her compelling. I love that she is Swedish simply because I spent some time there a few years ago camping in a forrest near a lake with a mysterious castle in the middle of it with a dear friend who speaks the language, but is Danish .. yes, it all sounds a bit mad.

I don't think she's vain in the slighest, despite what her image was when she was longer. She didn't wear a lot of make-up or obsess about her looks. A few people have been bitchy about her looks, but she's in her 40's now, so she isn't going to look like a 20 year old. I still think she's a good looking woman.
As another poster has said, she didn't pretend to be perfect and I liked that about her too. She also didn't hide the fact that she was there for the money - they all go on BB for money/publicity, so I don't see that as a negative. |

Posted something similar on the main board (but nobody seems to care much..) so thought I'd put it here too as I know some of us made a few calls tonight!
10p of every vote did go to charity so if you voted, it was a nice thing to do, at the same time as having a bit of fun with a TV game show, it's money going to good causes and will help others. Well done for your part in raising money for Leonard Cheshire Disability, Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Terrence Higgins Trust. Just wanted people who voted to know where their 10p(s) are now going. Night all! xxx |
