If BBC4 show 'Crooked House' plus all the old 'Ghost Stories For Christmas' - oh, and while you're at it the Christopher Lee "Jackanory for Adults" thing wherein he played M.R. James - I shall marry it.

Looks like Nicholas Lyndhurst is in it too, playing the father! Not sure how funny it will be, but I'll watch it!

Well personally I hope they don't repeat last years ident..even thought it was great ident, to me it didn't say "it's christmas" basically it was just a winter scene with Wallace and Gromit sledging..plus I hope we dont get a programme themed ident as in Doctor Who...can't we have something festive and traditional instead..something that says Merry Christmas UK, I did prefer ITV's idea last year of the swirly yellow christmas tree with all the christmas icons...it was a good idea!

I think either this week or next week, the BBC Press Office site will begin updating their week numbers on a more regular basis in the run up to Christmas as we are up to Week 42 on the site now. That's when it starts getting exciting for me, especially as the programmes are revealed in the 2/3 weeks before Christmas itself

It's also 7 weeks weeks tomorrow when we get the early TBA Christmas listings in the newspapers

Whos noticed some subtle changes since the new editor arrived?

One Final Question is called TurnOnTuneInChillOut or something silly.

Film, TV and Radio opening pages have new mastheads.

And The Pick of th Day in the Choices pages has been made more prominent.

Do you mean on the BBC Press Office site? I've noticed they no longer update the Films section anymore like they used to which is a shame as I used to look forward to seeing what films the BBC where showing in the coming weeks ahead.

Suziechan (a regular DS forum poster) has already reliably informed us there will DEFINITELY be a new Christmas ident on bbc1 this year. The precise details are top secret apparently!!

Surely bbc2 are due for a new ident this xmas as well?

The early provisional Christmas listings for all terrestrial channels will be revealed this year on Thursday 26th November I believe and the ''confirmed'' listings will be revealed around the 4th December with the Christmas Radio Times coming out anytime from Saturday 5th December. The majority of the Sky TV christmas listings will be revealed by the end of October.

It's rather early for the BBC to reveal some of the Christmas highlights, I'm surprised they have done that so soon. They usually announce their Christmas lineup sometime in November.

I don't think the Only Fools prequel will be shown at Christmas, I think the BBC plan to show this sometime in 2010, probably over the Easter weekend.

Thanks for the link. They've definitely announced some of their programmes a bit earlier this year.

And, all those TBA's in the early versions of the schedules in the newspapers!

Yeah these TBA listings will be in the newspapers on Thursday 26th November (or possibly Friday 27th November).

Some people seem to think these TBA listings are simply made up by the newspapers, when in fact these are the early draft versions of the schedules prodivded by the terrestrial TV broadcasters. It isn't until the following week that the listings are fully confirmed, usually the following Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning
