The early provisional Christmas listings for all terrestrial channels will be revealed this year on Thursday 26th November I believe and the ''confirmed'' listings will be revealed around the 4th December with the Christmas Radio Times coming out anytime from Saturday 5th December. The majority of the Sky TV christmas listings will be revealed by the end of October.

It's rather early for the BBC to reveal some of the Christmas highlights, I'm surprised they have done that so soon. They usually announce their Christmas lineup sometime in November.

I don't think the Only Fools prequel will be shown at Christmas, I think the BBC plan to show this sometime in 2010, probably over the Easter weekend.
the thing i find with RT is the christmas RT is never out on the due date

I've been lucky the last couple of years, I've gone into our local newsagents on the Tuesday morning and it's been on the shelf. I think in the South region it comes out from the Saturday instead though.

Not long to go now if you think about it. The Christmas Radio Times will be released from Saturday 5th December (or Tuesday 8th December for most parts of the UK) so that's just 7 weeks this coming Saturday

I must confess I usually buy the Christmas TV Times and the Christmas Totally TV Guide every year

Last year's thread was brilliant - it had hourly updates from those lucky enough to get their hands on a copy of the xmas RT on the due date. I seem to recall that it was the London area that gets them first and the rest of the country follows - the nearer you are to London the earlier you'll get your copy. The earliest I ever got a copy was the day before the published 'on sale' date and that was only because my wife worked the company that used to print them.

Certainly the BBC have become a bit more precious about its release date - they can afford to be. Most people value getting the xmas radio times almost as a tradition in itself. In the last few years the RT has been on sale well after the other xmas TV listings - like this thread seems to confirm there are xmas TV listings magazines and then there is the definitive xmas & new year RT. I do buy other listings mags at xmas but only as a pre-curser to reading the RT

Its the two editions that come out early before thye Christmas one that I always get trouble buying early - i might take up the subscription offer of 8 issues for £1 see if they send it out early

Actually, just thinking about it, the Christmas Radio Times will probably come out the following Saturday 12th December or is that a bit too late?

Does anyone know the confirmed release dates yet for the Christmas editions?

Absolutely agree, it's become a tradition in our house, all part of the build up to Christmas.

Bit late I think, last year the Christmas edition was out around the 6th Dec (in the South East) with the rest of the country getting it by 8th or 9th.

I buy the RT, but then buy another listings magazine, so I can write all over that one to make sure that RT is left intact! Is that sad?

Suziechan (a regular DS forum poster) has already reliably informed us there will DEFINITELY be a new Christmas ident on bbc1 this year. The precise details are top secret apparently!!

Surely bbc2 are due for a new ident this xmas as well?
I'm glad to hear that, I just hope it is something traditional and festive and not just an ident with snow and associated with a programme like Doctor Who, but I have a feeling it is going to be. don't get me wrong I love Doctor Who but I hope its not in the ident.

Yeah totally agree with you about BBC2 they need a fresh ident this year!
