ITV must be desperate that's all I can say. What is Susan Boyle doing on a show like 'An Audience with..'? This ITV show always used to feature celebs who had been in the limelight for years, not new artists.

I think ITV can see the £ signs..... I'm assuming it will be popular here in the UK (I won't be watching) but they can also sell it to a number of different countries - the US being one of them.

According to the National title file which is available to newsagents online the Radio Times Christmas issue has a provisional ondate sale of December 9th and comes off sale on the 26th although it has no price for the double issue as yet

Thanks for that info. That sounds about right and in London areas, the Christmas issue will probably come out on Saturday 5th December as per previous years

Sounds right - the rest of the country getting their copies the following Tuesday

Or if you live in N Ireland, by the following Friday or Saturday. It's a little bit frustrating!

I remember one year here in the North West, I think it was 2003, when the Christmas TV Times came out on the Sunday before the 'advertised' Tuesday release date. This is the only year this has happened where I live. We normally get our copy on the Tuesday as advertised.

Scary thought, the early TBA provisional xmas listings in the newspapers are now only 1 month away. We should be getting these listings on Thursday 26th November, along with a Christmas preview from all the terrestrial channels a couple of weeks before then

My husband thinks it's a waste of time getting the provisional TV listings because it's sure to change so much before Christmas. But I like at least having a fair idea as to what will be on. So it also won't be long until we get the BBC weekly listings changing quickly until we get to Christmas week. At the minute it's being updated weekly.

Yes I like to get the early provisional listings to give me a good idea of what kind of schedule layout to expect. There have been years that these prov schedules have been completely altered at the last minute. One year for example, in the prov listings BBC One schedule the film 'The Aviator' at 8.30pm on Christmas Day but in the final listings this film wasn't even scheduled and was shown later in the year (I think at Easter).

But it's still good to see what the schedulers have planned. I think very soon, the BBC Press office will be updating their weekly programme information in advance as we head towards Christmas. We are currently up to Week 44 on the Press Office site. We should, judging from previous years, be getting the Christmas week programme information sometime in November

Have just realised that December 9th is a Wednesday! But as i said its a provisional date so is likely to change as the other listings announce their plans as im sure the RT wont want to be the last on sale

Still no sign on press office of the weekly programme info being updated early and we are up to week 45 ending November 13 already

It all adds to the excitement to the build up of Christmas!

Yes it's very strange, there is a 'coming soon' feature on the Press Office site, but this is just a preview of upcoming programmes over the next 4 or 5 weeks. Maybe the BBC have decided to do it this way this year.
