Maybe he is JS

After all the BBC did turn down his offer to appear in the Christmas special, maybe he's trying to make a case for himself returning. I don't think it will work and even if it did he hasn't got a snowball's chance in hell of winning, but you have to admire his obstinacy in the face of a total lack of support!

You know what they say - a fool and his money are soon parted and there's no such thing as a poor bookie.

When this thread started I had a bit of a laugh to myself but I feel this thread is going to far.

1. You have not backed up your source for the story. People on here like to know where the information comes from.

2. I enjoyed JS in Strictly and thought it was a shame the way he bowed out, but dragging it up over and over will not change the fact. This goes for the voting problems as well. We now have to look forward to the next series.

3. The comments are getting a little on the 'bitchy' side. One person says something you hit back etc etc. Now people are going to 'ignore you' just think about what you are doing.

4. On here we try and celebrate all that is Strictly and yes comment when things go wrong but even the papers have stopped running the stories because it is now last year's news.

Please stop posting on this thread. If everyone adds this Anthony John to their ignore list he may eventually go away.
I have had to add to the madness of this by posting but there was no other way to make this suggestion short of pm'ing everyone individually.

It is always nice to recieve messages with New Year wishes, not so pleasent recieving messages sent with the intention of trying to stiffle free speech by, the deliberate use of subtle threats and intimidation.

If that is not what you are doing then I apolagize, but I have seen this sort of thing before, not on the Channel 4 message boards, because contrary to what you would think, very little is tolerated, even the use of stars, to half blank out offensive words.

It is worth remembering that John Sergeant recieved '1.7 Million viewers votes, 35% of the total, and twice as many as his nearest rival before he quit'

Kristina Rihanoff his dance partner 'blasted the judges for bullying John, and failing to take account of his age when marking.' 'He was a Hero but the judges were very unfair.'

Kristina went on and critisised the judges,

'For being to cruel, they lambasted John who was forced to quit despite huge public support'.

Over 28,500 viewers have signed an online petition to 'Bring Back John', a total that is still rising.

Camilla has also confirmed on Sunday that she has quit the show, and has 'Demanded a shake up of the voting system-stripping the four judges of any power'.

'Critisised the judging panel for being cruel.'

Camilla said 'Strictly's an entertainment show, not a proffesional competition. The public love people who can't dance as well as the other contestants but are great entertainers .'

Apart from the Ostriches, who still seem to have their head in the sand, there is no denying that this show is in crisis, and that major changes are going to be made, these things cannot be swept under the carpet, and wether you like it or not, large numbers of John Sergeant fans are still very unhappy about what has happened to John and Kristina, and should not be prevented from airing their views on a public message board

The bookies are currently taking bets at odds of 100/1 that John Sergeant is going to win SCD 2009, but will only accept bets up to a maximum of £10.

AJ. The voting figures have never been released. Where are you getting this figure from?

Did you know that 63% of people believe made up statistics?

There is "airing their views" and completely hogging the boards which is what you are doing AJ. And you are still on my ignore list.

Those voting figures, were quoted in The People on November the 23rd 2008.

And are therefore unofficial.

Can you link to the article? I thought that was the one which said Tom was ahead in hte votes?

This is the link but I wouldn't believe anything I read in a red top. I took those figures with a very large pinch of salt.

The article was by Alice Walker,

'The astonishing figures suggest that the veteran jouralist would have waltzed to victory in next months final'

A source said,

'Everyone knew John was popular, but these figures prove just how many fans he had. To have such a big majority, of the votes is amazing.'

' If the voting had carried on in the same way, John would have romped it. His vote was actually growing from one week to the next.'

Is that a joke? Both of those discussions were posted by you, and in total you had three responses in six weeks, including someone saying 'is that you AJ?'. Hardly an overwhelming response is it?!

Those figures for the People article are so unrealistic that I can't believe the article is true. There's no way five million people voted less than halfway through the series. Last year's final got fewer votes than that!

Sorry, I have given you the wrong link to the internet petition, which is,

www.bringbackjohn.co.uk.

In looking for this link I was surprised the other day to come across the other two.

The message there was one of mine, but bizarrely I did not post it on either of those sites. As you say someone recognised it as mine, because I posted it elsewhere, under my nickname of AnthonyJohn. I have no idea how it ended up on those two sites

I feel that the only way JS would appear on SCD again would be by way of an X Factor type show of the ones who couldn't cut it - I'd stake my mortgage on it - and I'm sure he would chicken out of that too!
I found him an entertaining diversion for a few weeks but it lost its appeal for me after 'Papa Loves Mambo' and he just became irritating.

JS cynically amused himself by manipulating the GBP - and I'd go as far as to say that IMO the judges were in on it until it went OTT with people believing the hype - meanwhile filling in the time till he jetted off to the sun (lower case since I am NOT referring to the news rag!) but took fright when he was going to have to participate in 3 dances in one week!

My only strong emotion about it all is that Cherie was voted out before he skipped off (the term skipped being used loosely ) - he should have announced his withdrawal that night and so be made the elimination for week 9 instead of setting up a press announcement first.

I'll bet he has a real good chuckle over the posts STILL being made extolling the 'people's hero' who took the GBP for a ride!

(My apologies - I had pc problems through the night when trying to post this and now that I have finally managed it I see we have moved on )

I agree, it was a shame for Cherie, but John does deserve his title as the peoples champion, for putting up with all the abuse from the judges.

I checked again today, the odds are still 100/1.

But if you walked into a bookies and said " I want to bet on Carol Vorderman to win Sports Personality of the Year" or "Chesney Hawkes will break the world record in the pole vault" they'd still quote you odds on it.

Doesn't mean it's likely to happen. Just means they want your money.

Please STOP.

Stop posting on this thread. If you add this AJ person to your ignore list maybe you will not then be tempted to prolong this stupidity.

It is a bit of a long shot Pickledlily, I agree, but stranger things have happened, and John Sergeant does deserve to be able to take part again, to compensate for the abuse that he recieved from the judges last year.

I disagree that future contestants should come under further scrutiny before they take part, it is the judges that should be replaced, with either five new judges, or five guest judges every week for advice only, with the public vote deciding, which is how it should be for a light entertainment show.

There has been no further news as yet about the possability of John Sergeant taking part in SCD 2009.

However it has been reported on page 1 of TV biz in the Sun Today, that,

' Strictly come dancing favourite John Sergeant is to Waltz his way round Britain after signing up for an ITV travel show.'
