DAB Adaptor for Ipod

Does anyone out there use a DAB adaptor with Ipod?

I have just about decided on an Ipod (Classic) but would like not only FM but AM radio stations (Talk Sport/5 Live). I believe the best route is Ipod with DAB adaptor.

This is the most convenient way to have all i want in an MP3.

Anyone care to advise if they've used DAB adaptors, if so which make and most importantly, how they perform etc.

Used a Roberts robi [Link to robi] with my 2G Nano and 2G Touch.

Great reception, but very buggy performance, it brings the backlight back up every 2 minutes, and my Touch prompts me to unlock it, on the other hand at least it allows me to surf the web whilst it is plugged on.

DAB signal quality is better than FM, but DAB uses massive amounts of power, I struggled to get more than 5 hours out of my 24 hour music rated battery on my Nano, also as soon as you plug it in, it starts to play your songs, starting with the first beginning with A [no audio is heard though]. Annoying if you are currently midway through a playlist that you wish to continue at a later time.

Perhaps you'd be better off with the Intempo iDAB, better functionality and less cable to deal with [massive drawback on the Roberts], in fact the iDAB plugs right into the bottom of your iPod and can be used with docks as well, as it has another female connector on the bottom.

Both can be had for around £50, and neither require batteries. Big shame Apple don't give us the option of an built in radio, but I guess that's one of the main reasons people go for the 'Pod in the first place. Hope that helps in some way.
