Had to say it, to someone, at least, be that a digital spy thread or otherwise.

I think I have a crush on Matt Smith. Is that wrong? I'm male and 33 years old. I'm straight and I've never fancied blokes before. But that cute thing he does with his eyes and that cheeky 'y-haaaa' laugh that he does.

I kind of fancy a bloke. Shite!

The way he gangles about and then scrunches his eyes is so cute.
Is it possible to be 98% straight and discover 2% of yourself that is gay? I mean, is that actually possible?

Of course it is possible! Don't worry it happens to everyone at some stage or other - it is just a bit later for you.

If he is gay, it could b quite a story if Captain Jack returns...

Finally! I did wonder why it took so long for 'Is Matt Gay?' thread to appear, or for that matter 'Is the Doctor no. 11 gay?' thread to emerge subsequently.

Speaking of the doctor, if he's gay, could he be half-gay, because he's half-human?

Not unless you lust after his not so sonic screwdriver.

Otherwise, relax, you simply admire the cut of the man's jib. That means your taste may be questioned, but you're not gay.

I don't think it actually happens to everyone. Not literally.

Aww, I think it's cute you like him

Gav, your message warmed the cockles!

I am gay, and am pleased that I have only fancied MS once (bottom-right photo on p49 of the latest DWM). There's something inherently WRONG about fancying Doctor Who. (As evidenced by those loons who were getting their knickers in a twist about David Tennant a year ago).

My fancying of MS was not increased by him getting his kit off in the latest episode. I find this very heartening.

Don't worry about your feelings, Gav. Just go with it!

It's very unlikely as he's recently split from Daisy Lowe. This suggests he's into girls to me

Matt's not gay, but I did hear that there was some scene in the finale involving Amy, the return of Martha and a boat-load of whipped cream.

OR did I just imagine that?

I don't think he is.

Time to open a can of worms!

The Doctor is neither gay nor straight.

Time Lords are asexual.

Time Lords reproduce using a genetic loom (Susan may well be the Doctor's granddaughter, but not in the sense we understand it).

Time Lords are certainly not attracted to earth women (physically or emotionally).

I thought everybody knew these things, apart from RTD, that is.

Longbarrow or whatever its called. Ugh! If they do something in the series that means that can't be part of continuity I wouldn't miss it.

Anyway I suspect Time Lords see things very differently to us and if you had the ability to recognise your friends even if they were wearing a different body then I suspect you would have a very different take on beauty.

It was Lungbarrow, and it was not one of my favourite books. I was never a fan of the genetic loom idea.

Yes, I agree that Time Lords probably see it all very differently to us. I view Ten's interest in Rose Tyler (and Madame du Pompadour) as a bit of an aberration, and Eleven's apparent indifference to affairs of the heart (or the loins) as a return to Time Lord normality.

RTD and a handful of deluded shippers.

I was always scornful about them as well. Then Matt Smith happened. I don't get it - he's not particularly good looking, but god, I so would!

Well in that case I ... oh ... you don't like it either

Who wouldn't? Matt's Doctor is like one of those people you like as a friend and then you hang out with them and spend time with them, and then you start to notice all those little acts of kindness and all those little idiosyncrasies of character, and the way they smile and laugh or frown, and then you can't take your eyes off them and your heart leaps when they look at you or speak with you, and suddenly they seem like the most attractive person in the world!

I thought it was good in The Lodger that when Craig informed the Doctor that he was happy to get out the Doc's hair if he wants to bring back a girlfriend or a boyfriend, the Doctor simply said that he'd give a shout if necessary. there was no need to label the Doctor as heterosexual, as it isn't what the show is about. I think the Doctors sexuality can be whatever the viewer wants it to be, but at the end of the day he has no preference

As if I'd duel with anyone on this forum. My philosophy is "we may have different views, but let's just agree to disagree ... amicably".

On the other hand, if I was like D'Artagnan with a duelling rapier or a crack shot with a duelling pistol, I might have a different philosophy!

Speak for yourself. I think to assume that all or most Who fans are gay is not wise thinking. Likewise Torchwood/John Barrowman fans.g

The books are not canon....

Being 905 and never having had a serious relationship must be a pretty lonely existence

He was CLEARLY shagging Romana

Only Fanboys want the Doctor to be Asexual, so he is created in their own image.

Even Steven Moffat things a romantic subplot is necessary to enrich the drama of the show.

This thing about Timelords reproducing in an entirely non-sexual way (all that looms stuff) - was it ever referred to in the original series? Or was it just the product of the New Adventures Books?

If it was the latter- I'd be tempted to say it's total bollocks canon-wise..
