80's footwear
I had various pairs of heels during the 80's but one one style of footwear I just missed out on (because I was too young) were a wooden wedge heeled toe thong - the wedge had a thin gold bar around the centre of it and they came in various colours including green, black and white
Can anyone else remember these, they were in Trueform I have always wanted a pair - and they remain one of my unpurchased must haves! |

I can't picture these, but I'm great at finding shoes - how high are they? Are they platform wedges? When you say wood, are they finished in wood, or is the wood painted somehow? What bit is in various colours - upper or the wedge? And when you say wedge heeled, do you mean they're wedges or is there actually a heel? Karo do some great wood shoes, but nothing matches your description.
Or to save you answering, have you got a pic on Google Images or anything?

I didn't expect a reply - but they were about 3 inches in height (hence me not being able to have them at 9 years of age!) the thong piece was a single colour in the colours described in my original post. I believe that they weren't solid wood, but a covering that was made to look wooden.
I managed to get a similar pair a few years later whilst on holiday in Spain, they were white, with white wedge and gold twisted band on the heal the toe thong was gold on these - but alas they weren't the original ones that I still crave for now! |

Wood wedges will be everywhere this summer, even Clarks are doing some. I say wait until march and then have a look around. Alas, I trip over my shadow so will be avoiding them.
