I've never been a fan of hers although I warmed to her this year because of Tom. However it's always sad to see someone go but as others have said it's much better to jump than be pushed, and she must know her days are numbered, especially as she was unlikely to get another contender this year. And it's always good to go out on a high.

I don't think her going will affect Ian - if they lose 3 pros (Camilla, Erin and Karen) they're likely to replace them and leave everyone else for one more series. I also have a feeling Bruce will step down before the next series which could mean they'll be one male pro short, if Anton gets Brucie's job.

I hope people leaving means we can go back to 14 couples.

That's a good point, which could explain why both of them seemed to want it so much.

Hmm.. I think the fact that they're both relatively young from an age and a "number of series done" point of view means that they're safe - for one more series, at least.

She's mentioned presenting and modelling, but I think the next time we see her will be in another reality TV type show. She may even do DOTDF this year as a judge if it's been recommissioned. Now she's dating a celebrity she may eventually become a Heat/Now/Closer magazine regular.

I don't think Ola would do the show without James and vice versa.

And after criticising the show she now wants to be on the judging panel????

Don't forget, Camilla, far from almost wrecking your chances, the voting fiasco you are criticising actually gave you the glitterball.”

I think her 'criticisms' may have been inflated slightly by the NOTW. She's being very diplomatic on TV now, saying that she would like to be a judge in addition to the current panel.

DOTDF - Diet on the Dancefloor, a TV programme shown for the first time last year, on satellite channel Living. 10 members of the public were paired with 10 "pros" (more like amateurs from Karen's dance school!) and they had to learn how to dance and lose weight at the same time. There was no public voting and each week someone was eliminated by the judging panel. The winner got a trip for 2 to Sharm-el-Sheikh in Egypt and a trophy.

Karen Hardy, Matthew Cutler and a GP turned sports physician (Dr Catherine Spencer-Smith) were the judges. It was on wednesday nights for (I think) 10 weeks, and aired last July-September.

Not happy she's going but she's left on a high. She's probably the reason I've kept on watching SCD.

I don't think I want Ian to stay, I can't imagine him dancing with someone else.

Edit: Is there anyone who can scan the Mail on Sunday article please?

Sad to see one of the originals go but can't blame her for wanting to move on after such a high.

And what a way to be remembered - with that fabulous showdance.

"Strictly's an entertainment show, not a professional competition. The public love people who can't dance as well as the other contestants but are great entertainers."

Never a truer word spoken.

Are the house of cards that is Strictly Come Dancing about to come tumbling down??!!

Is Camilla the first of the original 4 Pros to call it a day I wonder?! Given the very strong rumours about Erin, Anton seems to have turned his attention else where on TV! and as for Brendan, well, was this year's dancing success is swan song, in finally making the final for the first time since Series 1, having done a great job with Lisa & putting some brilliant choreography together for her and to get the ultimate 80/80 in the final - no shenanigans, just purely Dancing??!!

And then there are the rumours about Karen leaving too?!!

In my opinion the powers that be need to have their "re-vamp" talks now and make some sort of announcement or have a one off ITT with Claudia or something, before more "revelations" appear in the Papers/TV and the Gloss goes completley from Strictly and before the lose a wonderful show like SCD!

Its a shame she is leaving on a sour note really.

Someone has said why would it affect Ian, well they not only dance on SCD together they dance together away from Strictly, they do have dates already booked for dancing during the year (one in Birmingham in May for instance). I just think it might make Ian consider his future BUT I personally cant see him leaving of his own accord at the moment.

I have absolutely not proof other than a gut feeling but I dont think Erin will be back. She is getting married next year, she may want to start a family, Anton is obviously looking for a job away from the dance floor, and she was SO upset when Austin went and I think it was because like Cam she wanted to go out as champion.

BUT she set her sights on winning, or at least, making the final, which she achieved this year. It would seem more sour if she'd lost. She doesn't come across as bitter, just honest.

I think sour is more the veiws of the people who wanted someone else to win rather than Camilla's leaving.

I'd like to wish Camilla good luck in whatever she does. I think shes made the right decision by leaving on a high as you could probably guarantee that next year she'd be give a real dud. Plus by doing it this way shes gained some exposure for herself.

I was having just this conversation with someone. I have an inkling that the next person to announce their departure will be Brendan. He already judges the NZ DWTS so it's not like he doesn't have a job to fall back on. If Anton doesn't get Bruce's job he may take up something offered by a rival channel. All this and Erin and Karen leaving means the changes may need to be announced formally sooner rather than later as everything could end up getting out of hand if left to the press.

The pros bargaining power may even now be stronger as they can all refuse to sign their contracts - the producers aren't going find 14 new pros in a year and even if they do, it'll change the dynamic of the show which now relies on the pros being familiar faces.

Interesting that Camilla mentioned judging - maybe there have been strong hints that one (or more) of the judges is going to be replaced.

She's also the first winning pro to do the rounds publicity-wise; it's usually it's the winning celeb.
