Is Camilla the first of the original 4 Pros to call it a day I wonder?! Given the very strong rumours about Erin, Anton seems to have turned his attention else where on TV! and as for Brendan, well, was this year's dancing success is swan song, in finally making the final for the first time since Series 1, having done a great job with Lisa & putting some brilliant choreography together for her and to get the ultimate 80/80 in the final - no shenanigans, just purely Dancing??!!

And then there are the rumours about Karen leaving too?!!

In my opinion the powers that be need to have their "re-vamp" talks now and make some sort of announcement or have a one off ITT with Claudia or something, before more "revelations" appear in the Papers/TV and the Gloss goes completley from Strictly and before the lose a wonderful show like SCD!”

IF they are all leaving, then it is chance for the producers to give a chance to some newer blood, the remaining pro's are enough to continue the interest with newer pro's arriving. Who knows, they could be just as successful as those that leave. And it is often said that new blood revitalises a tiring format.

So there's no need to think that the hose of cards is tumbling, or that anyone needs to make any sort of reassuring announcement

All this and Erin and Karen leaving means the changes may need to be announced formally sooner rather than later as everything could end up getting out of hand if left to the press.

The pros bargaining power may even now be stronger as they can all refuse to sign their contracts - the producers aren't going find 14 new pros in a year and even if they do, it'll change the dynamic of the show which now relies on the pros being familiar faces.

Interesting that Camilla mentioned judging - maybe there have been strong hints that one (or more) of the judges is going to be replaced.”

Good point about the show relying on the pros being familiar faces. I think it's very important to be able to compare and contrast the different pairings from series to series in order to get a deeper understanding of the technicalities of dance, and also to see how the same pro adapts to teaching and dancing with a variety of partners. I look forward to seeing the pros return each year at least as much as I look forward to seeing a new line-up of celebs - there is a good range of personalities and dancing styles among the existing pros and that balance needs to be maintained for the good of the show. I think they do a fantastic job overall and are really poorly paid in comparison to, say, the judges or presenters. I really hope that there is no major purge or mass exodus of the existing pro dancers before the next series.

Regarding Camilla's comments about becoming a judge, I would be all for it. I think she'd be good in the role and it would freshen up the panel which is probably the one area of the show that undoubtedly needs some renovation.

I think Camilla has probably made the right decision. She's left on a high and with the rumours of the BBC axeing a lot of the pro's she might have felt it better to jump before she was pushed.

Strictly was a mess this year and I think this will be just one of the first pro's we hear of leaving.

The analogy rats deserting a sinking ship springs to mind!

I wouldn't want to see any of the professionals except perhaps Karen as a judge. Certainly not Camilla. I can't see her being remotely good at it (not that the current judges are... but I can't see her being better).

I think Camilla is great and will really miss her on SCD.

But all the best to her in the future.

I saw Cam's interview on SFTW- and sounded like she wont be doing SCD as a DANCER

She couldn't be replacing Tess could she-remember Tess is expecting a baby- which will be about 2 months old when the new series is due to kick off . I think she'll stay with SCD but not in a dancing capacity.

After she said she wasan't dancing- she was asked was she judging.

I wouldn't be waving bye bye just yet thankfully

I really wouldn`t be surprised to hear Erin is next to leave. She`s getting married this summer and maybe will want to spend more time with her hubby?

I think she just trying to leave the door open. I doubt we see on the show in any other capacity than doing the pro dances.

Its sad to hear
But it makes it seem that her relationship with Kevin Sacre is going well
Good luck Camilla

I, personally, would love to see her replace Tess. And maybe still dance on the show.

Did she mention anything about Ian in the SFTW interview?

It's a shame she's leaving as she was one of the original pros. But, I don't blame her for wanting to try out new things. I don't think that the BBC are stupid enough to axe all the remaining pros. The producers love the Jordans, Vincent and Flavia and Darren and Lilia, so I am sure that they'll be asked back.

Couldn't agree more. When the celeb list was leaked last August there was the same anticipation about the announcement of the celeb/pro pairings as the actual celeb list, and when the judges are interviewed just before each series starts it's usually about how x is perfect for y and a and b will produce fireworks etc. It'll be a shame to lose that.

The pay disparity rankles, and the way series 6 went may have got some of the older pros thinking that the show has peaked. I think the ones who wish to stay should ask for better pay and longer contracts - even a two year contract is much better than the one year contract they get.

I'm not sure about previous pros coming back as judges - I think it could work in a few years after all older pros leave and we're left with Brian, Kristina and maybe V&F/J&O.

I reckon Camilla is going to end up doing stuff like the Comic Relief Next Top Model show on BBC1 (if it still goes ahead - it's meant to be like the Living NTM show but with celebs and shown daily instead of weekly) or something similar...

I don't think she mentioned Ian- he could still be staying as he could do the pro dances with Hayley.

Cam has popped up here and there on TV shows so that's what is making me think she is being lined up to replace Tess- who will have a new born baby to look after.

Camilla would also be able to empathise with the pros- you know been there and done it. She'd be a credible in that role

I rather think that as Camilla actually knows something about ballroom dancing, she'd be better than three of the current judges.

That was the question she was asked after she said she wasn't dancing on SCD.
Cam didn't say yes or no to that question. I think she'll still be on the programme

Must admit i was quite surprised this morning when i heard this...i watched SFTW and heard it on there.

I can only imagine Camilla has lots of work offers lined up (maybe TV work, mag deals ) because i can't imagine any pro being able to turn down the financial reward SCD (and the tour) offers (even given the pay disparity) unless they have..........we all have bills to pay etc etc.

Good luck to her really, all the pro's need to find some other way of being financially self-sufficient as any of them can be dropped from SCD/tour at any time and will be at some point.
It's not a case of IF they are not re-contracted it's WHEN.....

It's a shame for Tom though as i would have thought this scuppers any chance of him ever coming back for a Champions dance/Xmas spec etc etc.

I wonder what will happen with Ian as well ?? if the BBC want to keep him they will though as shown with Matthew.

There's no reason why Tom couldn't dance with a different pro if he were to perform in an Xmas special.

I'm not surprised at the news. She's been great but I'm ready for some new blood. I loved Brian & Christina this year and I'm sure there are others who will equally fill the bill.

Tess doesn't need to look after her baby 24/7 - Strictly is only one day a week for her.

A friend of mine who has a BARB box was sent a detailed questionnaire about Step up to the plate and Hole in the wall and she said the questions were mainly about audience perception of the presenters. May explain why Anton suddenly appeared on 2 brand new programmes on BBC1, with one of them on just before Strictly, then he gets paired with Tess for CiN, then does the "me and my shadow" duet with Bruce and is pushed away by Bruce during what may be Bruce's swansong...

I don't think Tess is going anywhere, and if she's going to be replaced they'll get an established presenter. Camilla has never done any presenting; TPTB aren't going to take that sort of risk.

Of course she's going to leave her options open - she has no job at the moment that we know of and severing her ties with Strictly could result in her severing her ties with the Beeb.

I don't see that as having any bearing on how good a judge she'd make. Or would we like to see Hayley, Ola or James as a judge, for example?

a) I don't think she'd be honest enough, as I haven't seen her do anything but sugar coat her opinions to the extreme, moreso than people like Karen
b) I don't think she has much personality (sorry, don't leap on me for this)

There is a precedent though as after Natasha won SCD she did stand in for Tess when she had her first baby.

The key words that Camilla said were that she wouldn't be on SCD as a dancer

I'm sad but good luck to her! As long as Ian doesn't leave - that would finish me off!

Damn.......I'm sd to see her go but its her choice, its always good to go out a winner.
Interesting to see who's her replacement and whether she'll have her own pro partner and if so that may be urtains for Ian too.
