Quite agree with her. And given she makes more sense in an interview than what the four stooges on the panel do- surely she sould be offered a seat on the judging panel- if she would like to do it.

i quite like camilla and think she's doing the right thing.

let's face it the job is a nightmare and totally takes over your life and breaking down her fee gives her a pittance of an hourly rate.

i admire her greatly for not clinging on to the fame game at any cost. She's had 4 smashing years with highs and lows but i'm sure she'll be absolutely fine.

do think that a few others should do a bit of soul searching - after 5 long years is it still worth the hassle??

It is a shame she left although reading her interview it sounds as though she enjoyed her time on the show and also that she left on her own accord before the show entered its 'revap'. Hope when the next series comes though she still thinks she made the right decision.

I agree asp746 that although the pro's benefit a great deal from the TV exposure they work VERY hard for comparitively small pay. I think several of them voiced that opinion at the start of the series and Camilla may well be just the first of a few to move on to pastures new...

I wouldn't be excessively surprised if one or two from Anton, Erin, Karen and Brendan didn't return this year either...maybe even Matt Cutler too

SCD takes up almost half of the pros calender year and the salary cant be great. I bet Tess is on more than all of the pro's put together.

To be honest, leaving out the TV factor, the problem is with what Tess gets, not with what the pros get. I'm sure most people on DS would be pretty happy to get £30k for 14 weeks' work, especially with the extra they can charge the rest of the year round. I'm pretty sure that's more than the average person earns in a year!

Edit: According to this article, in 2008 the average UK salary for a dancer or choreographer was £36,294, so I don't think they're doing badly!

'Most people' on DS aren't working in live television I suspect Katie_p and whatever business you're in or money you're on it's still depressing to work with people who do next to nothing and get paid a whole lot more for it
