I've just had a 2nd gen ipod touch and bought an iPod Alarm Dock. Is it safe to leave the iPod on charge all night in the dock ready for the alarm? Can it damage the battery or shorten the life of the iPod?

Can I ask which iDock alarm clock you got? I've got the Pure Chronos iDock and that only charges the iPod once it is firmly pushed down on the docking station and then charges it but once the battery is full, it ceases to charge and sits there in hibernation until the alarm comes on or I wake the iPod up
So I asume its the same for other docking stations and to answer your question; no it shouldn't damage it
Whoa, Play.com own branded electronics - is it any good?
You can't overcharge a battery, so I wouldn't imagine it will cause any damage, and besides Apple do supply you with the Alarm function, so how else do they expect you to use it?

I was suprised how good it is. Especially considering the price compared to the other docks available.
