Leaving unwanted pets on the moors

In these credit-crunch inflicted times, people will be looking for ways to cut their household bills. If anybody is considering taking their Golden Retriever up onto Ilkley Moors with the intention of letting the hound off its lead, only to jump back into the car whilst it plays playfully in the brook next to the White Wells spa, and make off at speed only to return home and put all the dog paraphernalia into a black sack and dispose of it at the local tip in Menston....

I would advise strongly against this.

But all the pets could breed and adapt to outdoor survival, and it could be like a mini jurrasic park

I found one of my cats that way...she'd been put in a cardboard box and thrown off a bridge.

I haven't got a dog, Maybe I should take the family up there for a picnic?

We abandoned our pet panther on Bodmin Moor. I really regret it now - it's caused no end of problems.

I'm responsible for all those alligators in the sewers. Who knew they would breed that quickly?

Agree; it is much easier to put the whole litter in a sack and in the river before the family becomes too attached to them. Works with kittens as well.

People who do those kind of things should be dropped in acid.

Has this actually been done before? It's disgusting, the dogs have feelings too...they would feel unloved, and as though all the good times they spent with their owner was for nothing and meant nothing!

I don't see how some people think that is right...they obviously don't give a flying f**k about their pets in the first place!
