Samsung 32" LCD (LE32A336) & Wii Connection Problem.
Hi Guys,
I am a newbie to this forum and i'm hoping I could get some help with a problem i've got with my new lcd tv. I am trying to connect my Wii console via the cable with the yellow, red and white pins into the back of of the TV in the corresponding sockets....with no joy. When I select 'source' on the TV I get a black screen and a message saying 'No Signal'. I have checked to make sure the pins are in the correct sockets and that they are firmly in. The Wii was working perfectly with my JVC TV that the Samsung replaced, all I did was swap the TV's over, connect the Sky+ via the only scart socket and plug the Wii cable in. I've had a look around the fourm and i've noticed that a 'component' cable has been mentioned a few times in similar problems posted....could this be something I need to look at? Many Thanks, Lou. |

it sounds like you are trying to put in the composite cables that come with the wii into the component sockets of your new tv.
couple things to do,firstly did you get a scart plug connector with the wii too that the 3 leads plug into and this then plugs into a scart socket?if so try that and select whichever scart av option on the tv to watch. secondly get a wii rgb scart cable and do as above.this will give you a much much better picture than you get with the 3 composite leads. thirdly get a wii component cable and use that instead again giving you a much much better picture than the crappy composite leads. |

(If that all sounds a bit confusing, try this...)
1. Make sure you do have all the cables plugged in correctly/fully 2. Turn the TV onto any channel 3. Turn the Wii on, press the A button 4. Press the AV (source) button (first it may be a good idea to connect & turn on a DVD player or other AV equiptment so you're sure the problem isn't your fault) Keep pressing the AV button and waiting about 10 seconds to give each input the chance to display; repeat until you return to the first screen (probably TV). If you have a new TV you should get a menu displaying all AV sources (DTV, ATV, SCART1,2,etc, HDMI1,2,etc and possibly one or two others. With mine I have 2 groups of sockets like you described (composite), one for HD - but they only show up on the list if something is plugged into them, and the third SCART socket is empty, so try just connecting the Wii and 1 other AV thing. If you don't see the Wii Menu, try getting a Composite to SCART adaptor. If that doesn't work, get a new Wii --> TV cable. Once you do see something from the Wii, make sure you alter both the TV and Wii's display settings to match each other. |

Just a quick note, the OP mentions the TV only has a single Scart Socket.

The one's you need are directly above the scart socket...not the top row which are for component. |

Seeing this has reminded me: I'm connecting a Wii to a Philips telly (not sure of the model number where I am at the moment) via an RGB Scart lead but only getting a composite picture. I've tried all 3 SCART sockets and it's the same; I know RGB works perfectly when using Sky+ or a DVD player. Any suggestions?

You can tell by the ropey picture quality. Going via the DVD player gives me RGB but I don't have the spare inputs to do this all the time.
