Great news. Not ideal, but a good workaround.

Why? You're not going to be able to send MMS for free even with an O2 app.

Sending an MMS on a "normal" phone on O2 takes 4 text message units from your inclusive balance - in these times of huge or even unlimited allowances it is virtually free

^ beat me to it! - was on the message writing page for ages, as i wanted to make sure they did offer that and i wasn't making it up

o2, for normal tariffs let you use your text allowance for mms ,at the price of 4 sms. So technically costing your allowance, but you don't have to pay extra (obv. if you stick within your limit)

they don't do this on the iphone tariffs, but if the iphone supported mms, then i imagine o2 would

Its 30-odd pence per mms sent - just tried it and it works really well and allows you to save the pics as you can with emails.. I probs won't send many but its nice to have the option to if I want to - free receive works great! Not bad for a free app!!

Why should O2 create anything?

Surely, if anything, Apple should update the iPhone to have MMS?

I'm yet to comprehend why Apple don't implement this in a software update. Another thing which clients' remind me of - the inability to forward SMS messages. All these things could be resolved by Apple's software - it's a mystery to me why they don't.

Apple's products tend to do the bare minimum required in certain areas.

This ends up being annoying for some users.

They still ship their Computers with one mouse button.

Why dont you use swirly mms?

Not everyone is willing to jailbreak to get it.

Swirly by far the best way to do things though if you can get the settings sorted.

. . . and then made no more updates for months leaving people with an app that only half works

Because APPLE say you don't need it. As a result, 90% of Apple users accept this logic as fact.

I've got an iPhone & really like it but not being a Mac owner; I'm not willing to accept their attitude as gospel.

To be fair, I think I've only ever sent/received an MMS half-a-dozen times in my life!

Well its not like you can't restore the phone to its original state after jailbreaking. So people can't moan about voiding the warrenty.

Yes, but it's actually a highly configurable touch-sensitive mouse that lets you use it as 1 to 4 buttons:

My £700 Apple Notebook computer only has one button.

You could still brick your iphone jailbreaking it. It's updating the firmware, one problem and you can be screwed. It's not uncommon for iPhones to develop hardware faults either. You'd be again screwed if one of those hit you on a Non-standard firmware phone.

No, Macs all ship with the mighty mouse, have done for probably three years which as customizable buttons including one a for a right click. However they all ship configured in System Prefs to use a one button mouse - you have to set it up how you want to use it.

Yep, all the laptops only ship with one button - in the case of the new ones they ship with no buttons lol.

Look in system prefs because multi touch trackpads allow for a right click in a quicker and easier way than having two buttons. I think it is tap two fingers for a right click.

Good video on this page

I am a bit clueless and probably a touch thick but I got an iphone for christmas and as far as I was aware, when I got sent a msm, O2 texted me with a site and a password so that I could view it. Is this not the same thing. I didn't download any apps at this point.

Does this app do it better?

This app lets you send MMS (which the iPhone can't do natively).

You can also retrieve MMS that people have sent you with less hassle.

Ahh, I forgot about not being able to send them. I think I will give it a try.

Thanks for that.

Can I just add that I absolutely love my phone, I have had it since christmas day and I cannot stop faffing about with it.
