Did you 1st set it up with 1 cable? If so you need to do a factory reset with both cables connected.
If youve already done that, check both cables strength and quality. |

Earlier this evening, with my twin cable setup, I do believe i managed to record two channels whilst watching a third, live and therefore unrecorded, channel this evening. I believe this is a happy side effect of the way DSAT transmissions work that allow more than one channel to be broadcast to a tuned tuner! I got lucky with my choice of channels it would appear and this triple channel phenomenon won't be available to me all the time.
I'm sure someone will be able to explain it in more detail but am i also correct in stating that whilst recording two channels any unavailable channels will be greyed out in the guide but any available, to watch as a third channel, will be 'white' and selectable? Mildly off the OP's topic but mildly related. Jono |

Antenna Type : Fixed Antenna Connection Type : One Cable : Two Cable(Same) : Two Cable(Different) - Mine is currently set to Two Cable(Same) I had the two LNB's connected on original setup ! Is this the correct setting that its on, as I've had issues with recording two things at the same time, one will record and the other wont... also I cant record two things, say BBC1 & BBC2 and watch ITV ... |

It should not do this, did you set the programme to record by pressing OK on the epg. If you did you get the option of SD or HD (not both). Pressing the record button does not give you this option
I've not tried to emulate this myself as the box is in the conservatory and its blinking cold

Changed my Antenna settings, in the secret menu to 'Two Cable(Different)' as suggested then rescan the channels on both Manual & Freesat. Now whilst recording in Freesat the box will only allow me to select and view channels in the same Mux(i think thats whats happening), say if I'm recording ITV, I can then only turn over to non BBC channels, BBC one just aren't available whilst recording ITV..
Any ideas? |

What is the reason for the manual scan , does it delete the autoscan channels?

2 cable different tells your box you have 2 dishes on different satellites, you need to use 2 cables same or simply do a factory reset. If you do a factory reset you will have to re-instate any recording schedules. You won't lose anything already recorded
I've changed it back to 'Two Cables(same)' its working again as should.. One problem that I'm still getting that I cant fathom - if the box is off in standby, and a recording starts - front light goes from red to blue and recording begins. BUT! I then cant get the box to actual switch on for me to use - not until the recording has finished it switches back to standby, red light - surely that isnt right - is it ? |

Your exactly right. If the channel you want to watch falls within the channel group of one of the ones your recording then you can record 2 watch 1.
Its correct that unavailable channels are then greyed out in the list. I thought BBC HD and BBC1 were in the same group (low band vertical), so why couldn't I change channels? I have a quad lnb/2 cable setup. Geoff |

Last night I was recording BBC HD and BBC2, both from 9pm - 10pm. At about 9:57pm, whilst the two recordings were still active, I tried to change to channel 101 (BBC1 East Midlands). This was not permitted and I had to stop one recording before I could change.

I had the same problem as the OP ...
...Started with a standard single LNB setup (originally installed by Sky), then upgraded to a 4-channel so as to be able to view 1 channel and record another at the same time (and watch a third via another receiver if recording 2 already).
Could watch 1 channel OK but got the "No chance, sonny" symbol (looks like a UK no waiting sign, circle with a diagonal bar) if I tried to change channels. The key to it is the factory reset. When you first set it up it does a signal detection, and at that point it decides whether there's one cable or 2. It doesn't detect it when you plug in LNB2 once it's set up. So, if you add LNB2, do the factory reset and, it it's like mine, all will be well. The manual is no help at all with this. Still, there you go.
