Which of my TV sets is better for gaming and sky HD?
I have two 32inch HD TV's now, one is for the living room and will have Sky+HD, PS3, Wii and DVD Player connected. we don't have a big living room and we dont have a surround system.
The other set will be in the master bedroom and will only have sky+ connected to it. The two sets are: Philips 32PF5531 Sony KDL32V4000 From what I can see on the spec they are both 720p, both same brightness, both 50Hz but the sony has a higher contrast ratio (3000:1 vs 1600:1 dynamic) and also has a third HDMI port. The philips has higher rated speakers but we never take it over 30% volume anyway. another thing, the bedroom set will be wall mounted, the philips is 18.9kg whilst the sony is 13kg... Which set do you lot think would be the most suitable for each room? At present the philips is in the living room and the sony in its box! |

without trying to sound sarcastic, why dont you try out both in both rooms and decide that way.far better than asking some anonomous entities on here who don't have the same taste as you to decide for you
![]() anyway if your dvd player connects via hdmi then the sony is the only one with 3 hdmi sockets is it not? |

lol that would be the difficult, none lazy way
![]() I was hoping someone who understands TV's could suggest which one would be best suited to HD and which to SD... I would imagine it wont matter in the end as the missus will just decide based upon which one looks nicest! The DVD does conenct via HDMI yeah but at the moment its in via scart. I'm half tempted to put the DVD player in the bedroom tho, the wii and ps3 both do DVD anyway! Guess i'll just have to give it a blast and see what happens! |

I'm going to apply some psychology here - since you already have the Phillips set up in the lounge but you're still asking whether the Sony should be there instead (rather than simply putting the Sony in the bedroom since the lounge is sorted) that suggests to me you're not really satisfied with the Phillips...
So as a happy owner of the 32V4000, I say stick that in the lounge, and put the Phillips in the bedroom, wallmounting and all. I don't think the Sony will dissapoint, it's an excellent set and deserves to get out of that box and take pride of place! |
