Hi all,

Just acquired this new phone, which on the whole I like. But a small problem with texting the word 'is'. As you'll agree, it's pretty common to feature in a text message, but with my predictive text on or off, when I hit the 4 and 7 keys to form the word 'is', it comes up with 'hr', which is pretty strange. This means I have to hit the * to scroll through for 'is'. Even after having added the word to the dictionary, it still comes up as 'hr'.

Am I alone in this problem? All other Nokia phones I've had (6230i / 6233 / 6300) would default to the word 'is' first time, which makes perfect sense. I don't know anyone else with a 6220 Classic, so just asking is this unique to me? May be a small thing, but it grates!

Any advice received is much appreciated. Thanks.

Sometimes the predictive text will use the most commonly used term first, and then in order of usage. If you keep typing 'hr' but then change it to 'is' before pressing space '#', then sooner or later it should change to 'is'. Hope this makes sense!

he means you should type is is is is is is is.... until your phone takes the hint and realises that this is the word you prefer. it could be 10 or 20 times mind.

mine favours ip as i post in the c&n forums quite a lot.

Thanks. Well, I've been playing with this for a few days now and funny it gets all the other 'small' words correct eg, if, at, me, of etc, with me scrolling through as necessary. But off the bat would've expected 'is' to be presented ahead of 'hr', which is pointless.

But I'll persevere with trying to 'force' it to learn (reminds me of the CPU in The Terminator's brain ), and see if it happens.

Thanks again. Great phone, even though a bit plasticky!
