Nokia 6300 & Vodafone MMS problem
I'm have a real pain with the Vodafone MMS service on my Nokia 6300.
I bought the phone brand new and unlocked from carphone warehouse. I use it with a Vodafone 30day monthly sim. Since joining Vodafone I have never had the MMS working. I've had the settings sent to me twice by Vodafone, each time I've saved and activated them, and they haven't worked. I've visited the store and they gave me a print out of the settings and instructions. Entering these to the letter I have not got the service working. I've even got the settings from the Nokia site sent to me (three times and these have never worked. Each time they have failed I have deleted the settings so that the phone is clear and of any wrong configurations. On receiving MMS's I get text messages inviting me to the vodafone website to view the message online. When I try to send i get the sending outbox symbol for a few seconds, the GPRS "G" symbol, then an error message which reads "Message sending failed. Check details" Vodafone have confirmed that MMS is activated on my account and that there are no bars. I've updated the handset firmware to the latest version. I running out of ideas now. When I've googled the problem I've noticed that there are a number of people with this issue on the 6300 and Vodafone, but none of them seem to come to a conclusion. I'd love to sort out the problem with Vodafone, but when I phone all they ever do is offer to send the settings out again. Any ideas? ![]() (Sorry for the long post, just wanted to get some detail in) |

You don't say that you activated the settings (set as default) when you received/entered them. If you did then I would suspect that your account isn't provisioned for MMS after all. You can check this by putting your SIM in someone else's phone (which you know is working) to see if it sends.

Doing this with the GPRS settings gets me on the web. I have a windows mobile phone at home which I'll try with the settings to make sure it's not a service provisioning problem. I just hate setting up WM devices. |

Too right, I find MMS on Windows Mobile a nightmare. I would try to find someone with a known working handset. Try your SIM in that, if it doesn't work then there is an account problem. If it does then its a phone/settings issue. If you take your SIM into a Vodafone store, you can persuade them to check it there.

it means you have not been provisioned for MMS on your account, i would go to the vf forum and speak to them on there to get it sorted for you.
