That's quite heartening - a good spread of Doctors and some excellent scope for extras.

Good news. Was hoping 'Terror of the Zygons' might be coming out soon, but I can wait.

'Deadly Assassin' and 'Image of the Fendahl' are two of my favourite stories.

Image of the Fendahl was passed today with audio commentary by the bbfc, meaning it'll likely be the next one after attack of the cybermen.

Why do they never release them in order? You don't know how frustrating it is for someone watching Classic Who episodes for the first time to not be able to watch any of them as a complete series. Season 19 without Kinda. Season 12 without Revenge of the Cybermen. Most of Tom's years, and Davison's last two, with only a couple of stories for each series. It's like watching Planet of the Ood, then skipping onto Silence in the Library, then finishing on The Next Doctor, for Christ's sake!

I see why they want to have stuff from every era, but they could at least try to fill in these gaps.

...

Oh well, I'm being a bit ungrateful I suppose... I'm looking forward to The Deadly Assassin, all I've seen of Season 14 is top notch so far!

Article on the recolouring of POTD #3. (Warning: It's quite technical!)

Oh I loved it......I was quite suprised to hear that people hadn't liked it when it first aired......
I shouldn't be suprised really as I tend to like things that put me in the minority

I was very young during the Peter Davison era and even, to some degree, the Colin Baker era. I remembered bits and pieces but generally very little. So when the videos started to be released regularly in 1990 it was very exciting and I loved that they weren't released in order. I got to sample the whole range of Doctor Who in a short period of time. It was only when UK Gold started showing the show in later 1992, early 1993 that I got to see all those other storys in order. I don't think the order added that much. Ah happy times, new (to me) Doctor Who, Blakes 7 and Survivors.

Besides, back in 1992 we had the excitement of the "Tomb of the Cybermen" find. I don't think any fan of the time could or would have waited for that to be released, we wanted it now. And that's why the random release order worked so well

What stories are left to be released?

Rooks has a good point. Releasing stuff out of order keeps us all on our toes.

SweetMusic: there are loads and loads left the be released. Off the top of my hairdo, I'd say we're about halfway through the existing stories (a lot of episodes or whole stories are no longer in the BBC archive).

Hooray! Delta and the Bannermen! Mad, but completely loveable!

Image of the Fendahl is weird: watched it recently and didn't understand a bally word. Wanda Ventham is very good in it.

I am sure people will poo their pants with excitement about The Deadly Assassin, but I think it's a bit pompous.

The War Games is surprisingly watchable for a ten-parter.

Recolourised Planet (yawnsome story, standard Terry Nation same-old-same-old) will be worth watching for the recolourisation, but Frontier is a bit of a forgotten gem. I would like to know a simplified and non-technical version of how they recolourised, using chromadots and all the rest of it.

Bring 'em on!

A really good mix, and I'm very pleased.

I wasn't suggesting they start at An Unearthly Child and end with Survival. But now that we have a sample of just about any era of the show, I would like if they could, for instance, release the remaining Tom or Davison stories in their own respective orders. Each to their own, though, I suppose.

And if you don't like a particuar Doctor or Season you're left waiting years between releases you want to buy?

The vast, vast majority of stories are completely self-contained anyway so it hardly matters what order they come out in.

I meant that within each Doctor's releases (which are all being released simultaneously), they should release them in order.

Right, I'm getting the war games stat! Patrick Troughton was a fantastic doctor and this set of episodes are meant to be very good. Used to have the e-space trilogy on video but got rid, they are good but I'd watched them too much. Have attack of the cybermen on video in the tin with the tenth planet, stay away, it's awful. A load of cheesy lines, bad acting and a nonsensical plot.

Might get the rescue/the romans too, like william hartnell.

Me too. For me The Seeds of Doom is, along with Inferno, Doctor Who at its best. Pure perfection.
