DWO has listed Enlightenment also comes as a Special Edition too.... 75 min movie-format edit in 16:9 with 5.1 (default) and stereo audio. Menu option to play with an introduction (dur. 1' 28") by the director if required

Right. Would assume CGI is in the new version, and they just haven't mentioned it.

I received a copy for review purposes at the weekend.

For some reason the BBC press release, that comes with the discs, makes no mention of the Enlightenment: Special Edition or any of the extras that accompany it on the fourth disc.

Weird, but there we go.

There is new CGI in all the stories (as well as the original version of Enlightenment) with the usual option of watching it as broadcast (though the SE is only viewable with the new CGI).

On a different note, review for The War Games here:

I'm sure I read on DWO that there's a "new version" of Enlightenment, made by the director. This very forum mentioned "rotoscoping" a while ago, which is also linked to the new Enlightenment somehow. All in all, am sure it will make a superb story even more interesting.

yes there is a new version, about 73 minutes long. there's an intro from fiona cumming as well.

as I stated above the BBC press release has mysteriously omitted the details of the fourth disc and the special edition.

haven't got round to watching it yet, still on Terminus.

Never mind. It can only get better

ACtually I liked Terminus. I think it had potential but lacks direction.
