Orange Upgrade Due Tomorrow - Help Needed Please
Hi,
I have an earliest upgrade date of tomorrow on an 18 month contract (3 months early) I have just a couple of questions as I dont trust Orange staff to tell me the truth (Last time I upgraded I was told it was impossible to change from an 18 month to a 12 month contract because I was upgrading early, but I would be able to upgrade after 12 months on an 18 month contract anyway - when I tried to upgrade 3 months ago I was told this was not the case and the CSR was likely telling me that just to earn more comission) So my question is - should there be a problem for me to change to a 12 month contract when I renew it tomorrow, and if I do will I be able to keep the free unlimited anytime mobile browsing bundle I have on my account (or will I be able to keep that in any case?!?!) Also does anyone have any idea what an HTC Touch HD is going to cost me?? I'm on the Canary 40 plan at present but have a second handset for my partner on the same account so my total monthly spend is around £100 (although the second handset really is a contract in its own right) I will have to go to an orange store by the way as the online shop is currently out of stock of that model, dont know if that makes any difference?! Thanks in advance if anyone is able to offer some advice, i felt really done over last time I renewed and I want to make sure I know what I'm entitiled to this time! Ben. |

The only advice I can offer is that if you're changing your handset do it online or over the phone - DON'T do it in store. I've been at war with Orange since October over my upgrade, where I found I hated the handset I'd moved to and depending on who I spoke to at customer services I was told I could or couldn't swap the handset. If you do the upgrade in store the policy is that as you've "seen" the phone you can't change, but if you get the phone from Orange HQ you have seven days to change it if you don't like it. Oh, and don't feel you *must* change it on the day your contract expires - you can change it any time.

thanks for the advise but to be fair I'm a big HTC fan and am upgrading from a Touch to a Touch HD, have been dying to get my hands on this phone since Novemeber when it was released so have been counting down the days for a couple of weeks now
![]() I will do whatever it takes to get that phone by close of play tomorrow - I just want to make sure I don't get conned by an overly keen sales person again and I get as good a deal as poss. |
