Orange simcards
pkc
07-01-2009
Hi
Does anyone know if orange allocate numbers on registration or does each simcard have a number allocated..

The reason I ask is my mom purchased 3 simcards and she doesn't know how long they are valid for before they bin their sim numbers.

They allocate you a number when you call up to register it (which you HAVE to do by the way), therefore, in theory at least, they don't expire.
Even if they do expire, it's not exactly hard to get a new one free of charge.

Some SIM cards have numbers stamped on the pack, others are allocated on registration, however there is no longer a need to register any details with Orange, you simply place the SIM in a handset and attempt to make a call and the SIM will activate itself.

If a SIM has expired and won't self activate (normally around a year) just call Orange and they can manually activate.

I activated an Orange SIM from 2003 the other day.

I just had to enter the SIM card number (the wrapper had no phone number written on it) online.
