80gb ipod classic help, faulty jack..
sleek

just bought an ipod classic off ebay, it seems to have problems with the headphone jack as the slightest touch to the headphone chord interrupts audio output in the right channel. shall i just send it back or is it cheap to repair, i got it pretty cheaply, only 100 notes and its immaculate. it may even be under warranty but as its second hand i doubt i could take advantage of that could i?

If you go to 'Support' on the Apple website there is a section called 'Repair'. You can put the serial number of the ipod into this and it may tell you if it's covered by warranty (if the original owner registered it). If it is covered I think the warranty is transferrable - but I may be wrong.

Massive thanks mate, contacted apple and they've arranged for me to have a brand new replacement as its still under warranty (was due to expire next month), so i guess it all worked out for the best in the end
