Using iPod on two computers - what are my options?
Hi guys,
Apologies if this question gets asked time and time again.. I wasn't sure what to search for so I thought I'd just ask.. I've just bought a new laptop, and I'm planning on transferring all my music onto it (about 12GB worth at the moment).. I currently don't have all my music iTunes organised, I just changed the default iTunes directory to the My Music folder on my external HDD. My question: Will I be able to use my iPod on my new laptop? I'm not sure whether there's some sort of single user agreement or anything.. I presume I can just, once I've copied my mp3s onto my laptop, I can just export my playlist and all the files should point to the same place (provided the file structure remains in tact).. but would I then be able to sync my iPod on my laptop when I add new tracks? I don't really plan on Updating my iPod on my home computer anymore.. Edit: Oh boy, I'm silly! http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1202 explains it for me *hits head* |

Okay, I'm having problems...
I copied all my music across to my laptop, and kept the file system the same. I then exported my library. When I imported it, things were duplicated and some of the artwork was missing... Why is this? How can I transfer all the artwork (which all still appear on my iPod and original computer) onto my laptop? Or is the answer that I can't? I pretty much want the iTunes on my laptop to be identical to my home computer because I want to use my iPod exclusively on the laptop. ![]() Any ideas? |

Why don't you store everything on an external HD. Then you just plug between laptops.
