Hi there,

I cleaned out a lot of my old stuff over the Christmas break, but rediscovered a couple of broken handbags.

One is a Westwood suede bag, that has come away from the frame. I tried to get this repaired a while ago, but most places said they were unable to. Do Westwood offer repairs, if not, could anyone recommend a good repair shop in central London?

Secondly is my Marc Rana pouch, which is only 7 months old. The frog has lost one of his gem eyes. Would I be able to take it to Marc and ask for the eye to be fixed, are bags guarenteed?

Any help would be greatly appriciated as I would love to be using these pieces again.

Thanky OBx

Hi,

I think a lot of bags have a 6 or 12 month warranty so it might be worth getting in touch with Marc Rana to see if they'll repair. Same with Westwood, definitely worth contacting them by e-mail to see if they'll do repairs for you, although I imagine it would be at a cost.

Can't help you with a good repair shop as I live in the north, but maybe check to see if any fine leather goods stores can recommend someone to you?

Hope you manage to get them fixed

Thanks so much, It is a Marc Jacobs, I'm not sure how friendly they are, I sent an email to them, and they ignored it.

I will email VW right away.

Oh, that's a shame they ignored you I'm not too familiar with MJ, do you have a MJ store in London? Maybe you could ask one of the sales assistants if they could contact their head office for you

We do, in Mayfair. I bought the bag though in Liberty...I still think MJ should help. I'll give them a call so that it is not a wasted journey or that I don't end up spending more money.
