The reason I ask is that yesterday I bought a sheet advertised as "Double" for the mattress in question, it fits on but is causing the mattress to curl around the edges!

How big would a King size sheet be - would it be too big for the mattress in question? And if a Double sheet seems slightly too small, where the hell can I get sheets to fit?

You also need to measure the depth of the mattress - some of the deeper mattresses need deep fitted sheets (assuming you are using fitted). Just google deep fitted sheets.

I get that with new sheets (and newly washed sheets) and then after a nights sleep they have "stretched out" and fit properly

That answers that one I guess!

Will be off to get a new sheet at lunchtime then, before the old one ruins the mattress for ever!!!

160 x 200 sounds like an Ikea matress to me. They have their own unique Scandanavian sizes!. I use King size sheets on mine and they fit fine.
