If you have a nokia n96 like me and your having problems with the software (I have seen posts about it keeps crashing, resetting etc then you maybe intressed in updating the phones software for better and faster. thought ill do a guide on how to do it for thoses people who dont know and why i have some spare time

1) Install the nokia software updater from there website http://europe.nokia.com/A4579163 (apple macs not compatable but how ever if you download vmware fusion and install windows xp then it should be the tick but is not 100% safe on apple macs. Been doing it for years in windows xp. Yes you can do the same with other nokias such as N70, N73, N95/N95 8GB, N97.

2) Afther install insert the usb cable into the pc and the phone and select PC Suite then it will ask you some info about losting data click no.

3) You should see found new hardware on your pc like "new hardware nokia n96" just leave it to do is stuff.

4) Open the nokia software updater and read what it says before you click next and the same when you click next.

5) It will begin to serach your phones, When find it will say seraching for frimwire verson, ones found it will be like

6) again read whet it says and leave it to update. DONT TAKE THE BATTERY OUT OR RESET THE PHONE IT WILL GO OFF FROM TIME TO TIME AND MAKE SURE THE BATTERYS CHARGED!!!

7) When you see time and date on the phones finnished

Your phones now been updated. Follow step 2 and 4 and 5 from time to time to make sure is been updated to the lastest frimware. But if you get phones all ready updated then you been updated to the lastest firmware.
