Hi all, got my Humax HD PVR yesterday, installation was simple and the unit set up fine. I have one problem in that the volumn on BBC HD is really really loud compaired to all the other channels, any fixes out there? Just one note the remote is a dogs dinner!

For some reason i dont think the humax box volume works on BBC HD, it just goes to the loudest possible. ( well it does on mine anyway, maybe i am doing something wrong )

So if your humax box volume is turned down then other channels will use the humax box volume but BBC HD will just use the maximum box volume.

Just turn your humax box volume to the max. All channels should then be the same volume, and then use your tv volume to adjust sound.

BBC uses DD which has a fixed volume, I get the same thing if I play any DD movie on my comp, the output is at a standard volume and the PC volume doesnt work.

Yep thats the best advice. I have my Humax Volume at 100% all the time (its far easier to use the tv volume) and even at this I find the BBC HD louder than the other channels.

I don't think there's an answer for it at the moment other than set your Humax volume to 100% then use your tv volume for listening. There is still a volume difference but I find it just 2 notches on the volume control. I've heard those who use the Humax as a volume control find the difference much greater.

Exactly but if you use the humax for the TV control, you have to switch to TV, change vol and then back to Humax.

Its a real pain in the arse, the Humax should have no volume control at all as most TVs allow you to change volumes of different inputs anyway,

Ideally the Humax would work like Sky boxes do in my opinion, you can't (obviously) control the volume of the Sky box and the volume button on the remote by default operates the TV volume.

Saves having to hit 'TV' before adjusting the volume.
