I know this is like drawing teeth but I'm trying to work out what I need vs what I want

I'd like a dvd to copy stuff onto so I can watch it on the other tv sometimes
Is it just a matter of buying a PVR Freesat and then play it back through scart to a dvd?
Or is there a digital method without going through the analogue phase?
I guess I need a dual tuner box
or a separate freesat DVD recorder if one exists help

At the moment no DVD recorder with Freesat tuner is on the market.
This would be the only way of getting a fully digital route to DVD.
Your best option is a DVD recorder with RGB input for the best possible picture quality, although this usually means connecting to the TV scart out put of the receiver as those with a dedicated VCR output usually only out put the inferior composite signal from this socket, sometimes with S Video as well which is slightly better.
The DVD recorder I use has RGB in and out so the satellite box RGB simply loops through the DVD in standby on its way to the TV.

No problem with all digital route on a Foxsat-HDR. Transfer mpeg transport stream to USB mass storage (.ts file) device (pen drive or hard disc). Transfer usb device to PC. Convert to .mpg (loads of free stuff to do this). Master DVD with any DVD authoring software. That's It. Same as Topfield5800 freeview pvr. (and Humax9200 but usb transfer is very iffy)
