Ipod Video 30gb (5th Gen?)

Hi all,

having had an iPod 30gb for a while but rarely used it, now that i'm commuting more i thought i'd dig it out and start using it. When I connect to Itunes, it tells me there's a new version of Ipod Software 1.3 available to download, yet when i try to download it, it says am not connected to the internet, when i clearly am....

Am sure i had this problem before, but neve rbothered following it up.

Anyone had a similar problem, or able to offer advice to get the software downloaded?

Perhaps your Firewall is blocking iTunes from connecting to the 'net.

if you can find the firmware for your player manually you can always SHIFT + left click when you press restore and then choose the location of your firmware.

Try looking to see if it's your firewall first though and be sure you know you're getting the one for your model.

Thanks for the help guys, by Shift + left click i assume you mean using the left button on the mouse, unfortunately i havent used a mouse for donkeys years, i usually use the buttons on the touchpad instead... need to dig out my mouse, unless theres a different way to do it.

Managed to download the right version of software thanks to the site above
