Is there a reasonable switcher box where I can switch between two dishes (at least twin cables) and what would be the lose if any do you think?
If they are both tuned to the same satelite can you see any problems with the foxsat seeing them?

Thanks

Dave

Can't see why you would want two dishes pointing at the same satellite though.

Well, I have a wife that is 100% (rare I know but this my second attempt and being older I knew just who to choose

So, the one and only thing that she loves is her TV, every thing else I just get away with murder. I can buy cars cameras etc and nothing puts her out BUT!! if that tv plays up then I`ve crossed the line I talked her into a Humax foxsat and now she has it you would get that remote only out of her cold dead hand
I have it set up on a sky mini dish with quad lnb and it works fine (in good weather) but just imagine what would happen when I`m about to order my new toy (camera, hi-fi etc) and bad weather blows in
So, I have a 60Cm dish set up at the other end of the house wall still facing south,(it`s my experimenter dish that I always reset when finished playing) nice and sheltered and it runs my Fortec Star(one year old) what I am going to do is run a length of WF100 to near the back of the TV as my back up(I must have the back up to get my toys
I suppose I could just have one of these plates nearby
Four Way Earth Bond Plate http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/page7.htm

with patch leads at the ready (hell of a job to pull everything out) so that I could just quickly switch to the other dish (don`t care if an asteroid takes the corner of the house out as long as the tv is still intack

Now reading more it seems like the lose on a switch might negate the gain from a 60Cm dish with a fairly long run so just having the leads at the ready on the above might be the answer? I could always practise and might become the Guiness book of record holder for connecting 2 x F plugs

Thats it (we each have our cross to bear)

Phew. What about cutting the cables in a more accessible place for the changeover fitting 2 f plugs and a coupler for each cable (These have a very small insertion loss). You can then simply swap the input connections at the couplers. Dirt cheap also

Yeh ! probably the easiest and cheapest way to go, I have plenty of couplers.

WF100 twin should be fine over 15-20 Mtrs or is the single cable slightly thicker and better?

According to this page the minimum switch loss would be 4dB:
http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/page1b.htm#switch

That's probably only going to be a problem when your reception is really borderline.

However, I believe in K.I.S.S.
The less there is to go wrong, the better!

Single WF100 is the same cable as the twin (shotgun). Identical spec and performance.
