I meant in terms of skating - I found Gareth a bit boring personally.

I think it'll be a miracle if Ellery got further than Ray. Plus I'm sure Ray does already have a strong fanbase who will vote.

We haven't saw the women yet. So I feel its unfair to judge just on this.

I have a feeling he is going to have some stiff comp with Ellery.

Can't wait to see the girls next week!

here we go again.

someone shows themselves as being a great dancer / ice skater , and already people are slagging him off as big headed and / or as having an unfair advantage due to their past.

sometimes i wonder if the public deserve to vote in these shows.

I think a lot will depend on whether Ray can do the lifts well - if he's got the strength to lift his partner above his head.

As I said Last year started off very close from in the first week, there was two clear people, Suzanne got 19 and Chris got 20 so there was only a point between them. A girl will have to get some bit close for a competition to be made of it.

We've yet to see the girls so I wouldn't assume he'll win just yet!

I thought Chris would walk it last year and he got beaten in the final so who knows what could happen in the next few weeks. Ray is a lsight build so I can't imagine how he'll cope with the lifts, time will tell.....

And Clare Buckfield the year before.

The leader in week one has never won the show.

Hurrah! Posted just 2 minutes after I asked when someone would call him smug

Probably in for a run of them now:yawn:

This is quite interesting actually and it must be hard finding a right mix of people - there must surely be a certain "trial run" in a way, to ensure they have some who are competent, some less so.

But still, unless there is a girl to match him (and to me that's still boring, because I want a better all round group, like series 2, than a two horse race for the sake of a couple of exceptional performers like series 3 was), then I'd seriously question putting him in. I don't dislike him as a skater, he was fantastic, but I'd choose an exciting competition over having that any day. And, as it stands, Michael and Ellery are I think good enough to become entertaining and good skaters on their own merit, so I could have done without him in a way. But I'm not denying Ray is incredible, and maybe the competition will be exciting regardless - even if it means having 3 or 4 really good girls to try and match him.

Totally agree

How can we possibly say who may or may not win until we have seen the girls skate?
