I'm not a soap fan so its unlikely i'll vote for them...perhaps i best vote for Ray as he is Northern like me

I also just have an innate dislike for him that i can't really put my finger on. He is just very smarmy and the way he winks...*shudders* But he is a really great skater so i won't make my somewhat irrational dislike for him effect how i vote etc. That would go against what i think about popularity being more important than talent..i.e with Todd. It just shouldn't work that way. So, if he continues to be the best skater, good luck to him!

I do have to say though I thought Ray was amazing tonight. He's a very talented dancer. I do hope he drops the winks and cheesiness and I think he'll go far. I've heard from someone who knows him, he's a lovely lad. I'm warming to him already.

Sorry hes not coming over as a lovely lad and that is the major problem theres no doubt his routine was the best by far.
Only he can sort that arrogant problem out hes had that since Xfactor and its not a nice trait its almost like a stage school Wannabee.

Not everyone sees it as arrogance though. I see it as confidence. So I don't see a problem that needs sorting. Why should he change himself to please you?

The programme is Dancing On Ice - and Ray can dance on ice, no question about that. He's young and talented and confident and is a strong contender for the final IMO. He may not be everyone's cup of tea but that's life, it takes all sorts and all the rest of it.

I hope one of the girls is equally good, otherwise it won't be much of a competition.

Never even clapped eyes on Ray Quinn until last night and although he is obviously a good skater I just wanted to slap his face and I gather from the forum that this is not a unique experience I also dont believe that he can skate that well just because he is a roller skater, however being able to skate already doesnt seem to be too much of an issue on DOI. He will probably be in the competition for a long time but as the numbers dwindle he has to get to votes to stay in, the judges scores are not enough when the numbers gets lower.

I feel so much better knowing I'm not the only one that finds the boy repulsive!! I'm sure he's very talented but I just couldn't watch him.

Well on the basis of his skating, based on the little we've seen so far, that would be perfectly reasonable, wouldn't it?

I voted for Ray and Ellery last night and I can assure you I am not a little girl. I didn't even like Ray before DOI but he was so good last night he deserved my vote. Some of us actually vote on the skating performance rather then conceived perceptions about personality or the way someone looks.

I think it's a bit of a catch 22. The reason he can dance so well is because he's arrogant. Confidence is key in any sport. The more confident you are, the better the dancer. If you combine his confidence with his natural ablity he'll most likely win the show. He did win a Soap award for best newcomer or something like that when he was in Brookside. He came second in X Factor. So success seems natural to him. I guess you can't blame him for being a bit arrogant or smug! It's not that attractive, someone knowing how talented they are and coming across a bit arrogant but some people need to know they are good to keep going. Not everyone is like Leona Lewis - very talented but very modest.

Seconded. This is the bugger about people like Ray, and indeed successful people in the creative industries in general - when all is said and done, their confidence levels are a big part of what helps them achieve their success, so whatever we think about their 'big heads', they're probably better off with them than without them.

I liked him on the X Factor and I still like him now. He has tons of talent. Just because the guy is confident doesn't mean he is arrogant. I find him very pleasant.
