advice
I ve got lots of audio on my comp
talking books, music etc so its time to get some portable device to palyback this stuff without having to turn on my computor any advice what to go for ? I m told ipod are far superior for sound quality ... But iM not worried about the device being very small.. and are there any other features I should think about ? like say a screen that would display pics and maybe text ? I d be happy with something paperback size that would fit into a bag. the danger is to rush out and get something then later regret not getting another device with more features. thanks for any tips. |

iPod aren't superior for sound quality, though the sound is very good. If it's sound quality you want, Cowon are apparently the best.
Virtually all players show photos. Do you want video too? Have a look at www.advancedmp3players.co.uk - they have a full range of models and you can compare them. Then come back and ask (or give them a ring)! It's quite hard to narrow options down when I'm guessing you don't know what your options even are! And no - I don't work for them, I just find they're the best site. |

THANKS
I just need to find out whats available what options there are eg.. an mp3 player with its own built in speakers .. for eg and then one that might be able to scroll through a long file... and maybe one that will let you read text easily .... What I usually do is buy something then regret I did nt get something with extra features etc. As I say, Im not too worried about size just as long as it will play my files as well as my desk top... and maybe a big lcd screen ? |

Ok, well a lot will display text files (but not all of them) so if that's a big deal, you need to talk to the salesman about it.
Why do you want a big LCD? If you're not planning to watch video, then you'll pay more for it and it doesn't make your music sound any better! Several do have speakers but again not all. If cost isn't an option one of the big Archos portable media players might suit. They even connect to the internet via wifi, or plug in and record TV so you can watch it on the bus. But they're all-round players rather than just audio. Or look at the latest Cowon A3. BUT any of them will play audio just as well as your desktop, so don't get bogged down in flashy features and things you won't use. |
