"Britney Spears's forthcoming single 'If U Seek Amy' is facing a US radio ban over its controversial lyrics.

Radio stations have deemed the track too offense to broadcast due to its chorus "all of the boys and all of the girls are beggin' to, If You Seek Amy", the last four words of which sound like "F.*.*.K me" when sung quickly.

"It's OK to put in on an album, have fun with it, but we're publicly owned, you know?" Patti Marshall of Cincinnati's Q102 told MTV.

"We have a responsibility to the public, you put this... out and act like we're all fuddy-duddies, like we're trying to make moral judgments.

“It's not about us. It's about the mom in the minivan with her eight-year-old."

An Australian mother's group recently branded the song "horrifying" and "objectionable".

A bit strange really. It's only a song so I don't understand the big deal. I like the song by the way as it's really catchy. When I listen to it it actually sounds like "If you seek Amy" and doesn't sound rude at all. Don't know where they get it from really.

Yep it is. If You Seek Amy will be her third single.

Don't the radio stations over in the states play a lot of hip hop music that has swearing and crude language? I don't see why her song will get no air play due to one bad word.

She should cancel it and release Lace & Leather instead.

It's an okay song, but the 'controvercial' lyrics? Not exactly worth making a big deal over.

I honestly didnt hear it at any point until it was pointed out to me. I obviously understood what all of the boys and all of the girls wanted to do, but I didnt realise what If You Seek Amy sounds like lol.

I don't know but I hope that song gets released as well in the future. It's one of my favourites off the album!

Some people are just sad. Some people just take things far too seriously. Britney has always been controversial - people should just get used to it and stop buying their kids Britney albums and then complaining when they start saying "If you seek amy" everywhere!!!!

It's probably all part of the plan that the single would be 'banned' due to it's 'controversial content'. Who cares about singles anymore. All this is going to do is make more people want to hear the song and probably buy the album, therefore job done.

Well I haven't heard the song in question, but surely anythings gotta be better than the lyrical genius of womaniser womaniser you're a woman-womaniser, you you you are a womaniser womaniser womaniser womaniser.... (clearly puts the likes of Dylan, The Beatles and Nirvana to sham)

actually scratch that... I'm not normally in favour of nanny-state style banning of things, but in this case, I think I can make an exception.

That was probably the whole point of the song - IF U SEEK AMY = Eff You See Kay me

Watch that, its quite possibly the funniest thing I've ever seen on Fox News!

And to think people thought Goebbels was a propoganda genius! That's the biggest load of arrogant ignorant subjective shite I've ever heard and seen in my entire life

I loved how they had the whole "debate" and then that thick cow told all her viewers what to think at the end
