Too right Hera I love the Killers, their music is superb and Brandon Flowers is a very good looking guy.

Interpol are my favourite band ever. I like the Killers too but Interpol are ina league of their own. They have the best drummer ever in Sam Cooke and Paul Banks voice is just absolutely gorgeous and so unique.

For anyone who doesn't know them - check out Obstacle 1, one of my fave songs ever:

I do like Interpol and they are underrated.

Good music from both bands but The Killers have the edge for me.

Agreed with all of that. Interpol are probably my favourite band but for some strange reason they get little or no coverage here. Each album they've released is an improvement on the previous one which I can't say about many bands. No sign of them bringing anything out soon I gather.

Neither band is "better" in my opinion, but they have very different styles. Just so happens that The Killers appeal to a wider audience and so sell more records.

I probably tend to listen to Interpol more myself though. I find their albums generally to be more consistent, whereas with The Killers I will love particular songs but find myself really disliking others.

I prefer Interpol live as well, seeing them headlining the Latitude festival last year was one of the best live peformances I've ever seen, the pouring rain really added to the experience and seemed to really suit their music. Have only seen the Killers live once though and the venue wasn't particularly good.

Am also a fan of bands like The Stills, The Organ, The Walkmen - in fact the Walkmen are touring soon, just ordered tickets to see em in Birmingham in February.

Utter class Killers songs -

Tranquilize
Where The White Boys Dance
On Top
Indie Rock and Roll (Sawdust version)
Smile Like You Mean It
All These Things I've Done
Human
Spaceman
Joy Ride
This Is Your Life
The World We Live In
Sam's Town
Somebody Told Me
Mr Brightside (the remix on Sawdust is magical)

All of these songs are better than anything I've heard by Interpol.

Don't forget Carlos D's bass playing, It adds an extra dimension to them. You don't get that many bands that utilise every instrument to its potential nowadays and don't just use the bass/drums as background noise.

Very different bands IMO. It's like comparing Nirvana to Duran Duran

Wasn't it Interpol 'Slow hands' that was used on the Armani advert on over christmas?

I actually thought it was the Editors (another class band IMO well understated by the media)

But yeah, both have a Ian Curtis/Joy Division feel about them...

Correct about the advert

Editors do have a similar sound as I feel White Lies do also.

Joy Divsion are clearly a big influence in all 3 bands although that's not a bad thing.

I agree with the poster who said it was like comparing Nirvana with Duran Duran, no real comparison to be had at all.

I still don't like the Killers album, compared to their 1st 2 it's so radio 2 in it's blandness.
