...after their greatest hits tour

Perhaps their star hasn't been too bright recently but I'm gutted to see one of my favourite bands splitting up.

I thought after Bernard Butler left they would split then but they have went on for about another 8 years.

To make things worse I can't get to the Glasgow leg of the tour either.

Will still have the memories of the gig in Aberdeen last year. Was the same night that Celtic had beat Blackburn at Parkhead. What a great night.

Yes I agree sad news, but personally I rarely listen to their later stuff, although I do have pretty much every release.

I managed to catch them in Derby in their heyday, around 1995 I think and they were superb.

I would like to try and get along to one of the last gigs, and will certainly look forward to Brett's solo stuff!

What are your highlights of the band's career? Mine would have been Dog Man Star, all the early B-sides (on Sci Fi Lullabies) and the full length version of Stay Together !!

Cheers,
Al

Coming Up is a good album, the first one after bernard butler left. But the debut will never be equalled

I don't think Dog Man Star ws as good as Suede but it was a great album nonetheless.

My 3 favourites are Metal Mickey, Animal Nitrate and Killing Of A Flash Boy.

Did you see them live when they had the giant video screen showing films made by Derek Jarman? That tour was in the winter of '94. My mate and I are on the live video of the tour!!

When I first saw this, I thought that someone was doing me (and probably them) a favour by taking a gleaming, ultra sharp meat cleaver to each from head to crutch - sadly now I see it's not true.

Damn - another sleepless night

My favourite Suede tracks are My Dark Star and Killing of A Flash Boy. I think they were also a great pop band, when they wanted to be: Trash, for example. Some of Brett's lyrics leave a little to be desired, though. I'd say they'd dated, but they sounded dated even at the time. I did a search for a Suede lyrics generator, thinking there must be such a site, but there isn't, so here's my go, in tribute to the band's passing:

Radioactive lover-boys
Are on the rise tonight in Croydon
While in Ruislip all the moons
Your mothers took to warn the preacher come

From little vale to yonder town
We'll burn this f**king warehouse down
And run amok through streets we paved with
Blood we drew from Barrett Homes
Your catalogue disaster
Don't desert me, Sharon, now
