Sorry but I find Alex Parks' singing very dreary. As someone else on these boards said she hadn't changed from the beginning to the end.
I saw her interviewed on Popworld just now! She hardly said anything - it was heavy going for the interviewers.

I like it, partly because it isn't like everything else that's in the charts at the moment.

I really like it. Does anyone else think it seems really similar to Will Young's new 1?

I only watched the final of FA because I herd all the fuss around this Alex.. She Won't be around for long,, she doesn't appeal to teenagers or young girls I don't think.

I really like this song. In fact, I like it more every time I hear it, and she sings it really well. This and the last Darkness single are my fav singles of the year so far.

At the risk of sounding patronising, which isn't the intention, she obviously appealed to enough of the demographic for Fame Academy to win over the other 12 students. That would have, presumably, included teenagers and young girls. Of course, your comment is based on the fact that only teenagers and young girls buy music, which as we all know is far from true. Other than Alex and Will both winning a TV competition, there isn't really much comparison between the two, and this is certainly nothing like Will Young's new track. |

The song will be number one. It's already top of the pre-release orders.

Too rushed aswell.
Acts like Lemar, Javina have actual got a bit of cred for taking their time and finding the right songs to release. |

Yea I understand why shes brought out material so soon.. Who wouldnt, you have the spotlight on you, record deal etc youd take advantage of that. Its just I dont think her best stuff will be from this first album, and If the first album doesnt make an impression they she will go down the sneddon route... And I think this will happen

She has an amazing voice. Reminds me of Annie Lennox.
She looks good as well. She could have appeal to a very wide demographic, but this song is just awful. She's had a fantastic launchpad for her career, but with this song she's going to bellyflop. |

I don't think Alex has anywhere near the talent that Annie has shown herself to have. May I suggest perhaps you listen to a couple of Annie's albums .... she has power, emotion and a gentleness in her voice ... I have not yet seen much change in the way that Alex sings any of her songs - she sings them all the same way using the same tone and same volume. Alex sounded her best in the first 2 weeks in the academy ..she sounded better without the tuition .... as for songwriting, that has yet to be proved. |

I didn't say that she had anywhere near the talent that Annie has, although she may well do after a while and after she has proved herself and, dare I say it, been given time to figure exactly what she wants to do. What I said was that there were *some* vocal inflections that sounded like Annie Lennox. And there are. |
