problem with my sony ericcson w890i

I have had my w890i sinve april and recently it has taken to turning itself off whenever it wants and it doesn't let me send texts to certain people it always says for example sending failed to 'ben' unknown recepient! when clearly it knows the recipent and the number is correct! HELP! anyone else found this problem(s)?

Have you tried a software update? I used to have the W890 and it kept rebooting until I updated.

A software update might help as might turning the phone off and back on again on a daily basis. However, having done this, mine (and my wife's) still suffers. I hope you have more luck.

Maybe SE might actually fix this widespread problem with the next round of software updates.

yeah thanks for the advice but i have already tried this. It is so annoying it has done it twice since yesterday. I took it back to phones4u but to get it repaired i need to send it away and they don't offer any loan phones and i would still have to pay for my contract, even though i wouldn't be able to use it!

what network are you with? as they might be better able to help than phones4u

i'm on the orange network...not tried speaking to them yet but i can imagine what they might say...take it back to the place you recieved it from

but if your contract is with Orange...

ask them anyway and see what they say... at the very least it's not unreasonable to expect the use of a courtesy phone while the w890i gets sent away for repair, seeing as you are continuing to pay for the contract
