I normally have 2 or if I'm lucky 3. I think the last time I had 5 was Xmas dinner what with all the vegetables that come with.

I have an Innocent fruit smoothie every day so that's 2, a Banana, making 3, and then either steamed Veg or a Tomato with my evening meal making between 4 and 7.

I usually have a fruit smoothie for breakfast and a big salad every day for lunch and then some type of veg at dinner, so easily 6-7

When I am being "good" I can easily have my five a day. Yesterday I only had two though

Tonight I am doing a stir-fry so will easily fit 3-4 different veg into that!!

At least five a day, as we also eat a lot of pulses ( which only count once ), OH has lots of fruit for lunch and we both always heap our plates with vegies.

Er, so technically you've overdosed there.

I'm not always sure as I'm not sure how much of a portion things are counted as within dishes - like last night the fish I baked was with 3 large tomatoes, 2 onions, 2 red peppers and 2 yellow peppers and the pasta had the juice of 2 lemons in it and 3 cloves of garlic - but I made enough for 4 so I don't know what that reduces to?

Also for lunch I had some of a green leaf salad with spring onions, some of a rocket salad with sun dried tomatoes a slice of beetroot and a couple of grilled mushrooms - how many would that be?!

At the moment all of them, and then some. Pink lady apples, bananas, clementines, brocolli, carrots, lettuce, tomato, onion, peppers and more.

Usually four or five. If I'm being good, six or seven. If I'm being bad, one or two. Fruit and Nut bars count, right?

5 and more easily, love fruit and veg and considering one portion is tiny, it's so easy to manage, I've always eaten plenty of fruit and veg.

i try and manage a few but i find it difficult to fit it all in one day

I normally have a banana for breakfast, an apple mid morning, a smoothie in the afternoon plus a small tangerine if I can manage it. Not so good with the veggie though but Innocent have a new veg pot so I might try that for lunch one day!

Does anyone know if red apples are better the green? I prefer the taste and texture of green but if red are better then I should probably switch!

I easily make my 5 every day if not more.

At least 2 portions of fruit a day and then probably 2 portions of veg with lunch and, depending what I am having for tea at least 2 more portions of veg, often more.

I'm terrible. I went through a phase for a couple of weeks where I ate a banana and an apple everyday but then it lapsed.

Normally a small onion mixed in with my dinner and a glass of juice if I'm lucky. Pretty shameful

I am SO bad and hardly ever make 5.

I resolve to do better by eating a salad every day after reading these posts. I really don't like fruit much and prefer savoury things so peppers, tomatoes, etc should do the trick.

Thanks for pricking my conscience!

How tiny is it? I know that a raw piece of fruit counts as one and doubles don't count (as in you can't eat 5 apples!) but what about cooked? And does it vary between veg?

Easily eat 5 or more a day.

Bran flakes with sliced banana for breakfast.

Home-made vegetable soup for lunch followed by half a tin each of 2 different fruits (in winter) or 2 different fresh fruits (in summer).

Almost always have some sort of veg with my evening meal - it's very rare that I don't.

The only veg I don't like are aubergines and parsnips - other than that I'll eat the lot. Especially love butternut squash - I either mash it to have with sausages and onion gravy or roast it as a side dish.

It's really not too difficult to get your 5 a day in. If you have a glass of fresh orange juice in the morning (though I'd ratehr not due to the sugars), 2 piece of different fruit with your lunch, and then salad or mixed veg with your evening meal you can easily make the 5. I don't get it when people say it's "so difficult" to get through 5 a day- if you eat even just moderately healthily it's doable.
